Originally built in 2013, the Whiterun Hidden House is the ideal refuge for shade characters or those seeking quiet seclusion; includes entrance perch, cistern and sentry box.
Parked above the gates of Whiterun is a site long forgotten by the city, with discarded materials, containers and parcels left behind by past shops and citizens cluttering the narrow space. It was locked away by city officials and the entrance to the Whiterun tank was overgrown. A venue that was once used by criminals, Scotian businessmen and drunkards. The clutter has long since been driven out of the gates, which have been barricaded and barricaded by guards who no longer patrol these halls. Would you claim to be a forgotten part of the city?
For those seeking a private escape from the hustle and bustle of Whiterunhold, this players home is a completely free and modest home. You simply unlock the portal to claim yourself as the portal. There's a forgotten water tank inside, perfect for bringing home, and each container holds storage securely without the need for a stapled box. The house itself consists of an elevated passage above the entrance to Whiterun, a cistern below and a small room outside Whiterun, now used by guards and travelers. There are many hidden details and harvestables within the water tank area for you to find and collect. The boarding gate and guard box at the door were once linked, but were closed long ago; the key to time is lost.
This mod was originally created on Oldrim in 2013 by Scon27 who allowed me to make my own edits in 2014 for the Whiterun Gatehouse Home Redux I'd been using for years. Now that Skyrim Special Edition is available, and both mods are long out of date and forgotten, I've set out to remake the Redux version. Greatly improved and fixed all issues with the past home. Details and improvements have been added to all areas of the house to enhance the lore behind the locations and to improve and fix all previous bugs. For those using the City Overhaul mod, I personally use Dawn of Skyrim and the location works perfectly with only two disabled features; as long as no major changes are made to the gateway, the potential for any overhaul is high. The entire home is a friendly place for followers, and if you choose to have NPCs waiting or living here, you can use "My Home is Your Home" to let NPCs interact and relax.

Resting above the gate of Whiterun sits a spot long forgotten by the city, abandoned materials, containers and packages left by past stores and citizens clutter the narrow space. There locked away by city officials and overgrown is the entrance to the cistern of Whiterun; a spot once used by criminals, skooma dealers and drunks. These unwanted have long since been driven out and the doors sealed and blocked by the guards who no longer patrol those halls. Will you claim this forgotten section of the city as your own?
This player home is an entirely free meager dwelling spot for those looking for a private get away from the bustle of Whiterun Hold; you will only need to unlock the entrance to claim it as your own. Inside is a forgotten cistern perfect to call home with every container minus the jewlery box being safe storage. The home itself includes the gateway perch above the entrance to Whiterun, the cistern underneath and the small room directly outside Whiterun which is now used by the guards and travelers. There are plenty of hidden details and harvestables inside the cistern area for you to find and collect. The boarded off doorway and guard post were once linked but have been closed off long ago; the key lost to time.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
