Patch for "Unenchanted Items", addressing some bugs and inconsistencies that haven't been resolved in 5 years.
introduce
The purpose of this mod is to resolve a large number of inconsistencies in Oldrim's "Unenchanted Items" in blarie151's module. Given that the original mod hasn't been touched in nearly 6 years, I figured it was about time a patch became available.
This mod still requires you to download the SSE port mentioned above. I haven't touched blazie151's original files. This patch was written for version "1.6" (last updated on February 23, 2013).
These fixes are implemented as overlay plugins. Every entry for armor and weapons from the original mod has been manually overridden individually. The types of changes you can expect are detailed below.
This plugin is built based on many variations of USSEP.
repair
NOTE: The term "load chain" below refers to the "Skyrim.esm -> Update.esm -> Unoffical Skyrim Special Edition Patch.esp" overlay chain.
- "Detect Sound Level" has been correctly set on all weapons, for example: Karliah's Bow and Nightingale Bow are now "Silent".
•All rings/talismans have the correct keywords applied to them in order to fascinate them.
- Each *single item has the correct "object bounds" value set from the vanilla object they are based on. The value used is the latest value in the load chain.
- Some armors/weapons have had additional keywords applied to align with loadout chains, for example: Thalmor Robes have keywords that can be used as disguises in one of the Vanilla missions.
- Many other things such as sounds, impact data, blocking materials, attack speed, critical damage, range, armor values, damage, etc. have been changed to be consistent with the values in the loadout chain.
•The base currency value of each item is set to "50" to prevent "get rich quick" schemes.
notes
You should consider using SkyUI. It will provide a more consistent experience when crafting, as it will categorize items into weapons/armor/other, etc. You can then sort them by things like materials. This means you don't have to worry about vanilla manual menu sorting and the clutter usually caused by mods that add recipes.
footnote
*Three items (Chillrend, Dragonbane, Karliah's Bow) do not have any "official" object boundary values in any of the three main "Skyrim.exm, Update.esm" or "Unoffical Skyrim Special Edition Patch.esp". So they are still set to all zeros.

NOTE: The term "load chain" below refers to "Skyrim.esm -> Update.esm -> Unoffical Skyrim Special Edition Patch.esp" override chain.
- "Detection Sound Level" has been properly set on all of the weapons, e.g. Karliah's Bow and Nightingale Bow are now "Silent".
- All of the rings/amulets have had the correct keywords applied to them to allow them to be enchanted.
- Every* single item has had the correct "Object Bounds" values set from the Vanilla object they are based on. The values that were used were whichever ones were latest in the load chain.
- A few of the armors/weapons have had additional keywords applied to them to be consistent with the load chain, e.g. Thalmor Robes have the keyword to allow them to be used as a disguise on on …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
