About this mod Machine translation

Added several smelters to towns and cities that don't have them.

As the subtitle suggests, this is another mode that adds a smelter to the game. While there are many other options available, I still feel like I need one

Strictly add smelters and nothing else;

Do not touch navmesh to maintain maximum compatibility;

Use existing navigation, or place smelters on the edge of navigation so NPCs don't get stuck trying to "cross" them.

So why does Adrianne work in a smelter near Whiterun, but most other blacksmiths in Skyrim don't? My point is that it makes sense for blacksmiths to have them, as smelters are versatile pieces of hardware that allow them to both work with rough ore and break down old or defective gear. For this reason, and most importantly, because it's convenient for players, I added smelters to Riften, Solitude, Falkreath, and Riverwood. There are no new smelters in towns without blacksmiths; there are no smelters in Sky Forge (Eorlung can rely on Adrianne, why not? One per town/city would be enough, surely?).

Many town overhauls, such as JK's Skyrim, have added smelters to all of them. If you use them you don't need it.

ETaC - Expanded towns and cities also add a smelter to Riverwood. Since ETaC is a WiP and Riverwood is the only town with a vanilla smith that gets a new smelter through this mod, I chose to add a patch that simply removes all the edits this mod made to Riverwood.

I've also provided a file for adding a smelter to Morthal - for interesting NPCs (not linked), since this mod adds a smith there, but no smelter, so I'm calling it the 3dNPC add-on; but it will pretty much work without 3dNPC, if you really need to have a smelter in Morthal (where there is no blacksmith). The location of the smelter may seem odd, but I chose to stick with the intention of using the existing navigation cut, which was the best place for the bill. Think of it as Falion's crematorium, if you will.

I can make similar add-ons for other mods that add smiths but no smelters, if you let me know which modded location you'd like to see a smelter added. One that comes to mind is Arthmoor's Rorikstead; I may add one soon as I use it in my LO.

As you have realized by now, the goal of this mod is to "keep it simple". I made some minor adjustments to mess around with the smelter so everything still makes sense.

This mod should be loaded before mods that change cell records, such as Realistic Water II or the weather model.

All files are lightweight plugins and all files can be merged safely.

enjoy your meal! If you like this mod and keep it in your LO, please don't forget to leave your approval. Thanks!

So, why does Adrianne in Whiterun have a smelter close by to work with, but most other smiths in Skyrim don't? My point was that it makes sense for smiths to have them, because smelters are versatile hardware that allow them both to make use of rough ore and to break down old or defective gear. Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
