About this mod Machine translation

Welcome to the Static Skyrim overhaul. This mod is for those who want a more classic and immersive role-playing experience in terms of character upgrades, mission upgrades, and combat tactics.

Main goals:

Make the world almost completely "static" (i.e. NPCs and monsters remain at the same level throughout the game)

Create a more realistic and meaningful combat experience

Changed perks to make upgrades more important and give NPCs access to most of the same perks as players

Do all this with free, lightweight all-in-one modules that are often fully compatible with content modules.

Change details

enemy:

Most unique NPCs have set levels. Some, like followers, will have set minimum and maximum levels, but this is rare among enemies.

Enemies have distinct weaknesses and strengths. For example. The Dwemer's construct is highly resistant to melee combat and marksmen, but is powerless against certain elemental magics.

Dungeons will also have stricter level ranges.

We've looked at quests and other factors in detail to make the world's enemies and dungeons the right intensity for gameplay and immersion.

fighting:

Many perks were changed to make upgrades more important. Enemies can also use most perks as long as they meet the level requirements.

Weapon, armor and magic relationships rebalanced. If you don't have magic, having armor penetration versus heavy armor (and high-end light armor) is crucial. Very high armor will render most arrows useless.

Magic is hard to maintain. This means that early mages may feel underpowered, and even in the mid and late game, a lack of spells can leave you robbed of magic and vulnerability.

Health regeneration is greatly reduced.

Healing potions and magic potions heal for a much lower amount, and heal over a period of time. No potion! Taking multiple health/magic potions at once won't help. Low level healing spells have been nerfed to ensure

Tasks and experience points

Mission rewards sometimes give you xp for certain skills.

Experience gained is reduced, so leveling up takes longer. Visiting trainers play a more important role in improving character strength.

Future plans:

The balance of magic needs a lot of work, although I do think it's already better than vanilla.

Rebalance XP - I want to discourage grinding and encourage them to complete quests, visit trainers, or explore in order to level up.

I realize it's unlikely that many people will download this, but I've spent a lot of time creating this mod, so any feedback is greatly appreciated! I intend to continue working on this for the foreseeable future.

Compatibility:

This mod should not break any content mods. Changes to magic and weapon strength are almost entirely done through editing perks, so new magic and items should place nicely without creating a huge imbalance.

Content mods that add new quests, territories, or NPCs work fine, but any added NPCs won't have the same perks I give to all normal NPCs. This means that their abilities will be significantly reduced compared to all original NPCs/enemies/players.

Perks - This mod basically changes all vanilla perks but doesn't add any new ones. Can be loaded after owning any perk mods and should be fine, but keep in mind that it will overwrite any changes to the vanilla perk made by any perk mods.

Make the world almost entirely 'static' (i.e., NPCs and monsters remain at the same level throughout the game)

Achieve this all with a script free, lightweight all-in-one mod that is generally quite compatible with content mods.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
