Disclaimer:
This is a direct port of Borgut1337's latest Oldrim version of Sneak Tools. A link to the original mod can be found here.
My experience with modding is limited, so if you run into any problems I may not be able to help depending on the nature of the problem.
Nonetheless, I've tested every feature on this mod to make sure they work properly with SSE, and it all seems to be working fine.
The previous port of this mod had some issues with the Rope Arrows and Concealing Mask functionality due to the lack of SKSE during production, but this should all be fixed and will work just as well as the latest version of Oldrim. .
Install:
If you are using a Mod Organizer such as MO2 or Vortex, simply install the mod as you would any other mod.
If installing manually, drag all files from the mod's Data folder to the game's Data folder.
Here's the original description of what the mod does:
This mod aims to improve stealth gameplay by adding new tools and gameplay options, giving players more control and more to do when sneaking around, rather than just walking around slowly and hoping no one can spot you.
It's important to note that this mod is about adding new options, not about already tweaking
Existing gameplay.
Throat slit
Whenever you:
- furtively
- Draw a dagger or one-handed sword
- Activate the NPC you are standing behind,
You'll be trying to slit the NPC's throat instead of pickpocketing. if
On success, this will result in a guaranteed kill and animation
You cut the NPC's throat. If throat cracking is unsuccessful, then
The target will react as if you attacked it, but your attack will
fail.
The success of Throat Crack depends on the level difference between the player and the target, i.e. the player's level difference
Stealth and first-hand skills, the target's stealth skill, whether
The goal is to know the player, whether the target is in combat, and whether
The target is wearing a helmet, and if he is, what type of helmet it is.
If you have enabled menu popups via MCM menus or dialogs
Horstar (see below), there will first be a confirmation menu
It will ask you if you want a slit throat or pickpocket.
By default you will not choose to slit the necessary throat
NPC. This option can be changed via the MCM menu or dialog box
The same goes for Horstar, but throat slits on essential NPCs will result in
Death, thus potentially breaking quests that require NPCs
to live
Knock on the unconscious
Whenever you:
- furtively
- Raise your fist or one-handed mace
- Activate an NPC you are standing behind or a sleeping NPC,
You'll be knocking NPCs unconscious instead of pickpocketing. this will
Causes the player to swing their fist. If this attack hits an NPC,
He will lose consciousness. If anyone cares about crime
If the victim witnesses this behavior, treat it as an assault.
The unconscious body cannot be dragged away like a corpse
Vanilla Skyrim, but can be pushed by activating the body
Whenever you're not sneaky. If you activate your body while sneaking
You will be able to access the victim's inventory.
Whenever someone did not directly witness a crime, but did see the unconscious
After the body recovers, he will enter an "alert" state. In this state, if
They saw you touching the victim
(either trying to move the body or access inventory), it will also be considered an attack.
If they approach you in this alert state and you carry
With your fist or weapon raised, they will also realize you are
Commit a crime and report your assault.
Finally, if you're trespassing right now, they've seen the unconscious body, now
They will also report your attacks upon seeing you (except maybe
good).
After 10 minutes of real time, the unconscious person will wake up again.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
