Shop display items available for purchase
introduce
Have you ever asked yourself why the Skyrims store owners don't allow you to buy actual stuff in their store? Have you ever wanted to go to a store and buy a fancy sword hanging on the wall? Have you ever been in a situation where you were supposed to get a nice Honningbrew Mead in Flag Mare after a long and stressful day adventuring, but you couldn't order it for whatever reason? All right...
With PSDI you can buy the products you want, shop around, hit the market at Solitude, Whiterun and Riften, drink as much lager as you can in the pub of your choice for as much money as you can, or watch the sun set over Lake Ilinalta at Lakeview Manor.

How it works
PSDI added a quest to the game that gave the player additional perks, allowing him to purchase or consume items with specific keywords under certain conditions. This task is enabled at the start of the game and runs all the time. If the item has the "VendorItem" keyword, it can be purchased if the player is in the store (the location with the "LocTypeStore" keyword). If he is in an tavern ("LocTypeInn"), the food and potions are edible, meaning the player will consume (equip) them immediately if activated. In both cases, the player must pay the price, but thereby gains ownership, so he cannot steal. Food can also be consumed by the player (without paying of course) if the player is at home ("LocTypePlayerHouse") or in a guild or faction home. Membership of a faction is not easily identifiable and therefore relies on a script that checks each time the player enters a new location to see if it is a faction location and if the player belongs to that location. This is done differently by checking the task phase, checking membership directly, or other global variables.
Modification parts
Mods are divided into three parts and can be turned on or off individually in MCM to customize the gaming experience.
Shop: Purchase items with the "VendorItem" keyword (except cluttered items), so containers cannot be purchased either. There are several stores in the game marked as general stores with newly created keywords, and even miscellaneous items can be purchased in these stores.
Tavern: Spend food and drink in the Tavern near Skyrim in exchange for coins.
Homes + Guilds: Not originally a target of the mod, I added this feature to consume items in your home and related locations
version number
There are currently English and German versions as I don't like translating files. If you have an extra file for every second mod, it will cause confusion very quickly.
MCM configuration
Most MCM options set a global variable to one (valid) or zero (invalid) that is checked under the privileges added by the above mod. This means tha …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
