About this mod Machine translation

Randomize the main menu (and other content) every time you launch Skyrim.

Main menu randomizer

introduce:

This mod replaces the main menu (and everything else you need in theory) every time you start Skyrim.

It is mainly inspired by the main menu wallpaper changer HD 1080p, now with randomizer for Legendary Edition, but has been completely rewritten using .NET Script Framework.

Require:

Skyrim Special Edition

SKSE64.NET script framework

and all its requirements.

Install:

Simple:

Like any other mod, install using the mod manager of your choice.

Now install one of the available replacers for Main Menu Wallpaper Replacer HD 1080p with Random Generator (only Grids, Music, Textures not NOT!skse directory)

Customize:

Like any other mod, install using the mod manager of your choice.

Create a folder called "mainmenuwallpapers" in the "Skyrim SpecialEdition\Data" directory (can be changed using configuration files)

Place the new data directory for each replacer in a separate subdirectory (the entire path to the mesh directory should be "Skyrim Special Edition\Data\mainmenuwallpaper\[your replacer name here]\Data\Meshes")

Always use one of the many guides/tools available to ensure suitability of models, textures...: SSE NIF Optimizer

Usage and configuration:

Warning: This mod can and will replace data in the data directory by default. Use at your own risk.

By default, this mot randomly selects a directory within the "Skyrim Special Edition\Data\mainmenureplacers" directory.

It then copies everything in the "Data" subdirectory of the directory into the "Skyrim Special Edition\Data" directory.

Yes, everything. Theoretically you could put pluginfiles there, but don't do it.

You can change this behavior in several ways using the included configuration files:

Table of contents. Source:

This property selects the directory in which the mod looks for replacers.

You can use an absolute director (eg: "C:\Replacers") or a path relative to your Skyrim Special Edition directory (eg: ".\Data\[My Cool Other Replacers Directory]")

For example, use this option if you want to move the replacer away from the data directory.

Multiple directories need to be separated by |. character.

Directory target:

This property selects where the copied files are placed.

Relative (relative to the "Skyrim Special Edition" directory) and absolute paths are again supported.

For example, use this example if you want the mod to be written to a separate ModOrganizer Mod or ModOrganizer overlay directory so that it does not automatically overwrite other ModOrganizer Mods.

Files.Filter:

This property selects the files to be copied.

This is a regular expression (see:

It checks for relative paths (relative to the "[replacer]\Data" directory), so it needs to check for example ".\Data\Meshes\Interface\Logo\Logo.nif"

The check is not case-sensitive, so uppercase and lowercase letters are ignored.

For example: "^Meshes\\.*" will select everything in the meshes directory, but nothing else.

You can also override the filter for a specific source directory (if using multiple directories) by adding Lines to the configuration as follows:

Files.Filter2:“。*”

Override the filter of the second source directory.

Debug.LogLevel:

This property sets the number of messages to log. From 1 (errors only) and critical errors all the way up to 5 (all logged).

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
