About this mod Machine translation

A hotkey allows sitting (cross-legged/on a ledge) or lying on the ground (or elsewhere), with the possibility of waiting/sleeping. Requires SKSE64 and UIExtensions.

My take on it is to make a simple "relax anywhere" mod. I wanted some idle time with the fewest hotkeys and the least risk of freezing. In my testing, the mod ran smoothly and I didn't have any trouble, so I decided to share it. If you want to watch the animation before downloading, a short raw video is available.

how to rest

----------------------

Pressing the hotkey (L by default) displays the available free list:

sit cross-legged

sitting on the windowsill

lie down,

sleep.

how to stand up

--------------------------------

Elegantly: Just press the forward key (w by default). It will play a nice animation of getting up.

Suddenly: If the graceful method fails (I haven't encountered this in testing, but it's always possible), press the jump key (default is space). There won't be nice animations and the PC will suddenly jump into a standing position. But this can get you out of trouble. There may be some issues with this option when using Game Combat Overhaul. A fix for this is included in the MCM Compatibility tab. Details in the "Compatibility" section of the description below - please read these details if CGO is already installed.

Emergency: If all else fails, there is a debug option in MCM that can reset the player's idle state. Turn it on and turn off MCM. It really should work.

Emergency Mode: If something really weird happens and you absolutely can't get out of bed, load up an emergency save. Each time you press the "Break" hotkey, the game is saved before the list menu is displayed. When loading this save, a list menu opens (cannot be resolved). That's okay, just close the menu without selecting any idle. You're safe and sound there.

While it's possible to turn off saving after pressing a hotkey, I definitely don't recommend doing so. This is a way to provide a safe exit route in the event of an unexpected situation. If you want to switch the saving method (automatic saving/manual saving), you can also do it in MCM.

How this mod works - Important Notes

-------------------------------------------------- -----------------------

In order to play get up idle, the script is listening for the forward key to be pressed. But only for the first press after sitting/lying down. Once idle is complete, the script will stop listening for forward keys.

Pressing the jump key to get out of sitting/lying down to rest is a vanilla behavior. The script doesn't work at all.

It’s up to you to choose the right wall shelf. This mod does not seek ledges. If this mode is activated on flat ground, the PC will sit down but its legs will "sink" into the ground. Everything will work fine, it may look weird.

Calling up the sleep menu while lying on the ground is a little tricky and tricky. What the mod actually does is: spawns an invisible sheet in front of the PC, plays the idle sheet, and plays until the idle ends <- IMPORTANT! -Activate the invisible sheet. This causes the PC to lie on the ground and display the sleep menu. The resulting invisible sheets are removed after closing the sleep menu (either by closing it or actually going to sleep). That's why you can only see the menu once. In order to invoke it again, you will have to stand up and select sleep mode again. This is why you can't get the sleep menu in lie down mode.

Activating invisible bed rolls while lying down (after lying down idle is complete) has no effect. I don't know why, this doesn't work. The PC will be stuck on the ground and no menu will appear. Therefore, in order to create the illusion that the PC is lying on the ground before going to sleep (as opposed to sleeping while standing), this is absolutely necessary.

The invisible bed roll I use was not created by me. I found it in the vanilla game's files (Skyrim.esm, "Bed Roll Ground").

If you close the sleep menu, sleep mode essentially changes to lie-down mod …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
