About this mod Machine translation

Extend Skyrim SE Papyrus scripts (or SKSE/C++ plugins) with JSON-based serializable data structures such as arrays and maps. Embedded Lua interpreter.

This is the SE port of Silvericed's JContainers mod.

Port licensing is based on visible posts on this mod page, Reddit, GitHub, MIT license and a constellation of your choice.

You can always read the original page and its posts for information, or search somewhere on the web for more information (a few links below) - there are no major differences between the port and the original mod.

Target audience for this mod:

Temporary users redirected by some mods using JContainers (JC)

Mod developers prepare for battle

In the first case, you will most likely need to install, upgrade or uninstall JC.

Install:

You can download via Mod Manager (NMM) or manually using the upper right button. For manual mode, you can unzip the JC archive directly in the Skyrim root folder. If you are asked to overwrite certain files, then that means you are most likely upgrading JC (like other mods already bundled with JC).

upgrade:

Follow the normal installation path - just overwrite everything.

To uninstall:

If using NMM, all installed files are carefully removed. If you installed JC manually, you will have to search file by file. But be aware that if you have at least one mod still using it, uninstalling it may break your save game.

Mod developer

JContainers is a SKSE plugin that provides a way for your Papyrus scripts to:

Append or erase values from an array

Putting arrays into arrays (i.e. nested arrays)

Put multiple value types into a single array

There are associative containers (a.k.a. maps, dictionaries or even charts)

Ability to load or save data into JSON files (or co-save as binary)

Embed Lua-based scripts

Interact with JContainers via the SKSE/C++ interface.

There are very few other small pieces...

Since it makes sense to have the entire documentation in one place, I highly recommend checking out the linked original mod page, or starting from the forked wiki home page. There you can find overviews, samples and explanations. The Posts tab (here) is also available for questions and notes.

Please note that the original author doesn't get much silverware, I'm just a user who stepped in to help with the port and try to repay his debt to this great community.

Introduction

Target audience of this mod:

mod developers ready to battle

In the first case, most likely you will need to either install, upgrade or uninstall JC.

To install:

You can use the up-right buttons for download either through Mod Manager (NMM) or through Manual approach. For Manual mode, you can unpack the JC archive directly in your Skyrim root folder. If you are asked to overwrite some files then this mean that you are most likely upgrading JC instead (like other mod already bundled JC for you).

To upgrade:

Follow the normal installation path - just overwrite everything.

To uninstall:

If using NMM, it will take care to remove any installed files. If you have manually installed JC, you will have to hunt file …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
