About this mod Machine translation

What?

Unify the Realistic Needs and Diseases (RND) eating, sleeping, and sleeping mechanics with a complete Alchemical and Culinary Overhaul (CACO) of food, artificial insemination, item distribution, and effect changes.

How about it?

design concept

The core strengths of RND and CACO (requirements/alchemy improvements) complement each other, but conflict in some areas (food/alcohol). The design chosen for the project eliminates those conflicts with RND, allowing CACO to use its expanded food and distribution offerings within RND's system while relying on RND to perform its core functions (needs and disease).

in game

RND will operate in much the same way as the original changes:

The project introduced by RND cannot be found. This includes food, drinks, water skins and camping supplies.

Enema will be handled by CACO not RND

No longer requires special dialogue to purchase or refill water from the innkeeper

Open flame cooking without cooking utensils removed

No more water injection or boiling mechanics

Cow milking has been removed

If you own SkyUI you shouldn't hand sugar balls to players

The Sugar Ball menu has not been updated, so it still contains options that were removed from the MCM. Using it won't break anything, but using some options may introduce project paths that are not accounted for in the project.

CACO should operate exactly as designed, with the following exceptions:

CACO's basic needs (hunger and fatigue) system should be disabled. Technically it doesn't break anything, but the debuffs from each system (RND and CACO) can be applied until you eat or sleep.

Loading order

Patches should be applied as needed in the following order (LOTD versions of Lexy should use all patches except "Reality Water 2"/"Vanilla Water"):

realisticNeedsandDiseases.esp

iWant RND for CACO.esp

iWant RND for CACO with Frostfall.esp

iWant RND for CACO with Frostfall and Falskaar.esp

iWant RND for CACO with Frostfall and Wyrmstooth.esp

iWant RND for CACO with Frostfall and LOTD.esp

iWant RND for CACO via Vanilla Water.esp (not included in Lexy’s LOTD)

CAW's iWant RND with realistic Water Two.esp (excluding Lexy's LOTD)

iWant RND for CAW with Cathedral Water Overhaul.esp (optional patch)

Lexy’s LOTD.esp for iWant RND by CACO

compatibility

Other RND patches *should* work, but if CACO is not patched, it may break CACO's internal consistency. Other CACO patches should work but may not contain or may override RND effects. Since all conflicting records are removed, the realisticNeedsandDiseases.esp plugin can be placed anywhere in the load order before any patch.

Used with iWant RND widget.

Why?

Because no one has done it for me. Seriously, I checked over the years from LE to SE and didn't find a suitable solution.

After a recent hardware upgrade (thanks 2600k, you've served me well), I decided to reinstall Skyrim. After debating whether to migrate an old but working fragile installation or create a new one, I decided to give Lexy's guide a try. This is a great guide, and the results are rock solid, with the kind of internal consistency I like (without spending a ton of manual recording patches to get it). I found that I didn't have the full determination to build manually this time, so I decided to give Wabbajack a try. This has proven to be a huge time saver. Once you've mastered the functionality of manual changes, it's recommended that you tweak it a little when you want to run faster.

The challenge I have is that CACO is tightly integrated with Lexy when built by Wabbajack. CACO, while great, doesn't have a visual indicator of demand. Since I have the iWant RND Widget in my personal arsenal, I'm used to when I'm hungry. I'm considering pulling out of CACO, but that would be more work than I want. Then I looked for the CACO/RND patch again but didn't find the complete patch. Like the iWant RND Widgets, I decided it was time to iron out the kinks and get to work.

I realized that over time, removing the conflicting parts from the RND wou …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
