Immersive Activate removes the small icons and adjacent text that indicate the actions available when an object is activated, whether it's talking to a person, opening a door, searching a chest or what have you. Spoiler: Show

MilletGtR mods will always be free

After playing Skyrim for a while, one will automatically know which buttons to press to activate objects, and what types of actions can be performed on said objects. There is no need to be constantly reminded that the activation key is [E]. There is also no need to remind an object what actions can be taken. People will know that a door[b] is open, a bed is asleep, and you are talking to people.

iActivate will remove the graphical icon of the pressed button to activate the object you are viewing. If the full experience is selected, accompanying text (i.e. "Open", "Talk", "Sleep", etc.) will also be removed, with some exceptions (these exceptions are logged and handled by a hotfix, more on this issue below). Such a simple change, but so immersive.

The picture below is an example of the effect of iActivate.

master file

Remove icon only (lite version)

Only the activation icon is removed, shown here as [E]. Everything else is intact.

before after

Complete experience (recommended)

Remove everything but the object's name and use it for the best immersive experience.

Optional files

Patcher (recommended)

Some items and objects still show "Activation Name" when pausing the "Full Experience" option. That's why MilletGtR created a patch that will remove these texts from all selected mods! Below is an example of the effect of iActivate Patcher. Installing the patch is very simple, see the short guide in the installation section.

MCM menu

iActivate has MCM menu for better customization. Here are a few examples of available options.

'Empty' option

'Have' example option

'Pickpocket' example option

'Steal' example option

Lock level example options

Again, these are just some of the options in the MCM menu, check the menu for yourself.

MilletGtR’s recommendations:

All toggle options: remove text completely

Pickpocket, steal, steal: red dash, '-'

Possess: possess red, 'have'

Lock level: -Locked-

A showcase video that feels like an iActivate movie trailer made by GamerPoets, thanks!

This mod is incompatible with any mod that adds the file ~\Skyrim\Data\Interface\hudmenu.swf, as it will take precedence over iActivate regardless of loading order. If the file exists, you need to find the mod that added it, and delete the mod. Or delete the file itself.

However, iActivate IS compatible with mods that add the file ~\Skyrim\Data\Interface[b]\extracted\hudmenu.gfx

Known incompatibilities:

  • 'Simple crosshair - no candid eyes' - OLDRIM MOD - [E] icon reappears.
  • 'Color map markers updated' - [E] icon can be redisplayed.
  • 'Scoped Bows' - Can turn the [E] icon flash on and off.
  • 'Less Intrusive HUD II' OLDRIM MOD - If you wish to use Less Intrusive HUD II with IAtivate, you can deactivate the activation icon in the icon.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
