Gold to Septim interface fix
about:
While I like that SE already has several mods to address the fact that gold isn't weighed and mislabeled, I wanted more from the immersive experience despite Septim still having his face on it. After hours of searching around for tidbits, I stumbled upon a quick fix. Someone on reddit suggested the following for Oldrim:
In the vanilla game folder:
\ Data \ Interface \ Translate_ENGLISH.txt
Modify all instances of the term "Gold" with "Septim" to the right of the TAB space.
With this in mind, I modified the Translate_ENGLISH.txt file in Skyrim's English strings, reverting all syntax to American English and replacing every instance of gold with septim. The UI now speaks septim and includes your statistics such as how much gold you have collected. I discovered this completely by accident, mind you, I'm still new to Skyrim SE, but I figured I wasn't the only one bothered by the apparent inconsistency in the lower right corner of the eye and wanted to share the discovery. If I've missed anything please let me know.
Install:
Manually drag and drop the files into your interface files. The file path should look like this: Skyrim Special Edition > Data > Interfaces
uninstall:
Delete txt. document
credit:
All credits go to Seraphiel's "English Strings" mod.

With that in mind, I modified the Translate_ENGLISH.txt file from English Strings for Skyrim, reverted all the grammar back to American English and replaced every instance of gold to septim. Now the UI will say septim, including your stats, such as how much gold you've collected. I found this totally by accident, and mind you, I'm still new to Skyrim SE, but I figured I wasn't the only one annoyed by that glaring inconsistency in the bottom right corner of your eye, and I figured I'd share the discovery. Install:
Manual drop the file into your interface file. The file path should look like this: Skyrim Special Edition > Data > Interface
Uninstall:
Delete txt. file

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
