From Soul Story 2

My point about making redundant dragon souls useful, ported from LE to SE. Reserved souls increase weapon and unarmed attacks, shout duration and power. Souls lost upon death can be resurrected, or souls converted into uplift points. More features in the works.

=======

In mid-2019 I released a mod called Souls Do Things. It was designed as a lightweight means of making dragon souls useful. While the mod plays perfectly in my own game, a common request I received after uploading it was that the MCM menu be required for ease of use. This is a valid suggestion since the original mod handles settings via global settings via console commands. However, I was relatively new to coding (I guess I still am), and I found it tedious that to make the MCM menu I pretty much had to change the way the various perks, spells, and magic effects interacted with it. each other to some extent.

It's been over 6 months since I released that mod and I finally found the time and motivation to unencrypt it. So here we are.

Souls Do Things 2 is my perspective on making redundant dragon souls useful, ported from LE to SE. Reserved souls increase weapon and unarmed attacks, shout duration and power. Souls lost upon death can be resurrected, or souls converted into uplift points. More features in the works.

So what does this mod do?

Dragon Soul Scale//

================

Most mods I've seen with too many unencrypted Dragon Souls treat them as a consumable currency. My mod treats souls as attributes.

Attack Power - Each soul you collect can be configured to increase your bare-handed and weapon-based attack power. Although bows and bows fire, ammo does not benefit from this bonus.

Shout Power - Each soul you collect can be configured to increase Shout Power by x%.

Shout Duration - Each soul can be used to increase Shout duration by x%.

Each value can be configured independently of every other value and can even be capped.

Note 2: Currently, there is no setting to lower the cooldown, as having the cooldown down to 0 I find it to be too powerful considering the amount of other things in the game that can already be stacked on top of it. Let me know if this changes.

Dragon Soul Revival//

================

You may be familiar with Dead Souls, which revives the player when he enters a bleeding state. It's a nifty little program with its own MCM menu and does what it's supposed to do for the most part. Unfortunately, the modder hasn't updated it in a while, and now the potential for more features is gone. Another issue is that Death Souls' script utilizes the GetPlayer function, which is, at least from my understanding, slower than using the PlayerRef property.

So I researched Death Soul and its revival script and compared it to another book by modder Narue in Dragon Soul Utility. Before I knew it, I had made my first script. The result is that the revived dragon soul function should be faster than the dead soul.

This revival feature is designed to be paired with a limited save mode, or if you prefer... Dead is Dead.

If you have the Death Replacement mod installed, you can choose to disable this feature.

revival mode//

============

Select the desired recovery mode via the slider. 0 disables resurrection. 1 will consume the number of souls specified via the "Cost" slider on resurrection. 2 consumes half the souls and requires the specified cost as the minimum number of souls to be restored. 3 will drain all souls and follow the same minimum requirement rules as 2.

Super Mode is a setting that gives you a burst of power when reviving. Thin …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
