About this mod Machine translation

This script tweak modifies the already amazing Genesis Unleashed "core script" to speed up spawns and maximize the likelihood of enemy spawns in every situation.

Genesis Unleashed is truly the next step in the evolution towards enemy generation mods, using keywords to dynamically scan any and all dungeons (including modded dungeons) and spawn massive loads of enemies.

However, two things caught my attention while using this mod.

First, this mod slowly spawns enemies over time to prevent crashes, which causes enemies to spawn in "after" areas the player passes through. Causes most spawned enemies to never come into contact with the player.

However, the SOT team warned me that removing the timer would completely cause CTD for high-level players. So I gradually shortened the wait timer in the SOT_Genesis script to see how much I could shorten it without causing a crash, and I reduced the spawn time from a few minutes to 45 to 60 seconds (40 spawn max). This means that once you enter any dungeon cell, that place will be filled with enemies who want to kill you to death within a minute.

This experimental version has been tested with advanced players above level 40 and 10 followers with zero CTD in my own test sessions, feel free to try it out. Unless there is a CTD within 45~60 seconds of entering the dungeon, you are good to go.

There are two things to keep in mind when using my experimental version of the SOT_Genesis script.

  • I have not and will not use dungeon surface generation to test my scripts. It's too risky and complicated. If you use my version of the script and keep surface generation, you do so at your own risk. I would not change this script to suit surface generation. Unless you really need dungeon surface generation, I recommend disabling it and keeping the amount of surface generation to a minimum.
  • I tested it using both the Advanced Enemy Mod and Genesis Unleashed's NPC Releveller feature, and they both work great. However, I didn't test it with any of the loot placement features (treasure and potion mods) in a high-level player character. If problems occur, disable them first.

Second, there is some friend or foe detection included in the initial scan script that prevents random placement of spawn objects (moldy skulls) when you have a lot of minions. Especially controlled by follower control modules (such as EFF).

Therefore, I disabled most of the detection capabilities embedded in the GenesisAutoSkull script to ensure enemies spawned wherever possible, and playtested it throughout the main and companion missions with no negative effects.

The negatives are that since I removed the civilian detection parameter, enemies are spawning in some civilian mines. You must manually disable it in MCM or Genesis Book before entering any of them. Apart from that, almost all cells cannot be generated by keyword checking, so you don't have to worry about it.

Install

You obviously need the original Genesis Unleashed 4.7. Its link is in the requirements tab.

After that you should download my mod and paste the script files into the Data/Scripts folder. There is no need to do the same with the source script file.

First, this mod spawns enemies slowly over time to prevent crash which results in enemies spawning in area "After" player passed through. Resulting in major portion of spawned enemies never make any contact with player.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
