About this mod Machine translation

This mod removes most of the NPC's damage reduction and effect immunity from Enemy's Revenge.

illustrate:

Revenge of the Enemy is one of my base modes. It brought back the good old Bethesda-removed features of the NPCs to cater to console gaming fans of the time. The problem is that RotE will spill water haphazardly (well, if we're using the spice metaphor, the cap will fall off and the whole bottle will fall in). The NPC's overall damage resistance bypasses armor values, while resistance to most weapon and ability effects creates an interesting character. This combined with the already ridiculous NPC stat bloat and bassackwards difficulty-based damage progression makes a fun game on high difficulty less fun.

What I deleted:

Actor effect abilities and perks increase the damage resistance of the overlay (non-armor value), sometimes four to five layers deep.

Has special immunity against Merune's Razor, Dawnbreaker, Wabbajack, and Chillrend.

Unyielding Strength and Stagger (except Large Creatures), Illusion Magic, Bending Will, and Ranged Damage (Except Skeletons).

I don't mess with guards, soldiers, dragons, or telmor.

Once again, let me emphasize that these abilities above are not just found in a handful of bosses, I've found them in every creature more powerful than the Bane of Dracruger.

Other things I changed. Because they need it:

Any creature that is a skeletal race. They now have a minimum health of 150, level 0.6, multiples, an offset of 50 at a time, and resistance to arrows. It's still not a lot, but better than 35, without levelMult, and 5. This includes Soul Stone level monsters, but not Arvak.

This mod incorporates the racial changes from my mod Red Eagle. Now instead of a horizontal draugr, the red hawk is a horizontal briarheart (with special glowing eyes).

I lowered the Forgemaster's health from tens to thousands to make him a more viable mid-game boss rather than a post-game boss. All attacks remain the same, so he still freezes you in place and bombs as if your oil reserves were there.

compatibility:

This mod requires "Avengers 2016 Revenge SE" as a master. It also requires USSEP as the master.

Loading order matters! This patch (and RotE) will cover a lot of NPC records. Place any favorite mods that affect certain NPC records after this, or just use an obsolete patch.

This mod was designed with NPC Stat Rescaler, CGO and Smilodon in mind, although they are not required.

EXPLANATION:

Revenge of the Enemies is one of my essential mods.  It gives NPCs back the abilities that good ol' Bethesda removed in order to cater to the console kiddie astetic of the time.  The problem is RotE liberally sprinkles (ok, if we're using a spice metaphor, the cap came off and the whole bottle fell in) NPCs with across the board damage resistance that bypasses armor value and resistance to most of the weapon and ability effects which create an interesting character build.  This combines with already ridiculous NPC stat bloat and bassackwards difficulty based damage progression to make an interesting game at high difficulty less enjoyable.

What I removed:

Actor effect abilities and perks which added blanket (non armor value) damage resistance, sometime four or five layers deep.

Specific immunities to Merune's Razor, Dawnbreaker, Wabbajack, and Chillrend.

Immunities to Unrelenting Force and stagger (except in massive creatures), illusion magic, Bend Will, and ranged damage (except in skeletons).

I didn't mess with guards, soldiers, dragons, or thalmor.

Again, let me stress that these above abilities weren't just present in a few bosses, I found them in just about every creature stronger than a draugr scourge.

Other things I changed.  Because they needed it:

Any creatures which are of the skeleton race.  They now have a minimum of 150 health, 0.6 levelMult, a onetime offset of 50, and resistance to arrows.  It still isn't a lot, but better than 35, no levelMult, and 5.  This …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
