ENB Skyrim SE
This ENB is designed for vanilla weather Skyrim SE users who want the darkest possible nights while being virtually invisible without light assistance. It's based on Firemanaf's re-engaged Skyrimese Enb. After getting initial approval, I will release this as a beta to see if there is purpose and interest from the community.

About this mod Machine translation
This ENB is designed for vanilla weather Skyrim SE users who want the darkest possible nights while being virtually invisible without light assistance. It's based on Firemanaf's re-engaged Skyrimese Enb. After getting initial approval, I will release this as a beta to see if there is purpose and interest from the community.
Install
Download the latest ENB binaries from the ENB series website: http://enbdev.com/download_mod_teskyrimse.html
Copy the files d3d11.dll and d3dcompiler_46e.dll to the main Skyrim SE directory (default?:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition).
Copy this mods file to the main Skyrim SE directory.
When you start Skyrim with a new ENB file, a folder called ENB cache should be created, this may cause the main menu to load slowly while the ENB cache file is created, and will load faster in the future.
Purpose
Vanilla Skyrim is not dark. The torches and Alteration's school lights do have a recurring gameplay purpose at night and in dungeons.
I found SkyrimSE Re-Engaged ENB through firemanaf and overall very happy with it, link below.
There is a darker setting for Re-Engaged under the ENB effects preset menu, but I wanted to take it a step further and not make the player completely blind in the dark, as that would be equally frustrating.
It took me several times to get close to something I was happy with, and I wanted to share it because the reason I did it was that I couldn't find what I was looking for.
Why vanilla? I'm making an unmodified game aside from ENB to help identify changes/patterns I want to make to the base game. ENB helped add to the atmosphere of my game and gave the player lighting mechanics more purpose.
design
ENB design is based on several constraints:
Make the night as dark as possible so that there is reason to use torches and light spells, but not so dark that players can't navigate and see objects.
The ambient and direct lighting need to be high enough so that the grass shader doesn't lose all color because point lights from the player light don't affect the grass shader.
The result is that ambient fog is used to blur vision at night while balancing other lighting parameters to produce an effect that doesn't look completely dark and doesn't look completely blurry, but somewhere in between to simulate our reduced vision at night while retaining the ability to play games.
publish information
Currently, my release is based on the Ultimate version of Re-Engaged ENB. I plan to follow up with more performance-friendly versions, and I want to optimize this Ultimate version.
FAQ
Q-1. This ENB is too dark, is there a lighter version?
A-1. First, I recommend that your monitor is properly calibrated (see bottom of the page under the Bugs section). Second, try using the "Nights & Interior Adjustments" settings built into the file "enbeffect.fx.ini". The easiest way to access it is to use the ENB editor within the game. The default shortcut is "shift + enter", navigate to the ENBEFFECT.FX dropdown menu in the right panel, the settings for Nights and Interiors should be set to 2.0 by default. Lower this value in 0.5 increments until you find a setting you are happy with.
Q-2. Does Nighteye work?
A2. Nighteye should do a good job of improving your vision at night, but I think it still needs optimization.
Q-3. Is there a more performance friendly version?
A-3. not yet. See the link above to re-engage ENB for information on how to improve performance. I wanted to take the time to evaluate this, I played Skyrim at 144 fps and the performance increase is better than if you were playing at 60 fps as modern hardware can handle lower frame rates more easily.
mistake
It's harder to see some meshes without a light source when you're close to them than from a distance. You may notice this when you walk up to the door, and it suddenly becomes darker than before. I believe how this "fog" works with the interaction of the ENB environment with the game. I think there is a curve set …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
