Unlimited FO4 type positioners.
introduce
While I know there are other locator mods out there, none of them were quite what I was looking for, so I made this one with the intention of making it more like the locator in Fallout 4.
describe
This mod allows you to place, copy or scale any object in the game. unlimited. Anything you can click using the console menu, can be targeted using this mod. Note that if you place or copy a landscape object, it will not be navigated. So you can walk on it, but other NPCs won't be able to run on it.
Like in FO4, objects will stay relative to your position. So when you move, the object moves too. You can move it back and forth relative to your position. You can scale it proportionally, or rotate it at any angle. You can also choose to make the object static or dynamic when placing it. Static objects cannot move or collide.
When positioning objects, most controls are disabled except for moving and looking around, so you can use the hotkeys used by the vanilla game for positioning without conflict. Additionally, actor AI handling is switched by default when positioning.
I also added a feature that allows you to change the motion type of all objects in the current cell to static or dynamic. I recommend making all objects static before placing large projects. This is because when you place items, it still affects dynamic items, making them fly around. If they are static, positioned objects will pass through them.
Note that when the position key is pressed, the mod checks the crosshair reference first, then the console reference. So to use console reference, make sure your crosshair isn't hovering over anything.
How to use
Select a reference by hovering the crosshair over an item, or click on an item after opening the console menu. Choose to place, copy or delete.
To move objects, move your character around, or hold down the up/down/left/right/forward/back keys. To rotate, hold down the rotation modifier key, then hold down the same key. To zoom, hold down the zoom modifier key, then hold down the up/down keys.
Snapshot:
When moving objects. Press the left and right keys simultaneously to snap the object to the center of the screen.
When rotating an object. Press the up and down keys simultaneously to set its angle to 0, 0, 0 (i.e. right side up).
Also scale objects. Press the Up and Down keys simultaneously to set the object's scale to its original size. The size to start positioning.
MCM settings
Camera Angle Height Toggle: If checked, objects will move up or down relative to each other when you look up or down. If unchecked, objects will remain the same height. You have to use the keys to move it up or down.
Autosave: If this option is checked, an autosave will be created when pressing the location hotkey.
Toggle AI: Actor AI handling will be toggled when placing objects, and again when setting objects. Note that if the AI is already turned off when placing the item, it will turn it on and then turn it off again after placing it.
Replace all movable items Warning: Most static variables in the game cannot be moved. To solve this problem, the mod removes the static object, places a new miscellaneous object item in it with the same model so that you can move it, and then after completing the move, places the new static item in it and removes the miscellaneous item. object. If this option is checked, you will be warned when this happens and given the option to copy the object.
Position update interval: To keep objects relative to your position, this mod uses updates. This setting sets the frequency of updates in seconds.
Cell motion type settings: When pressing the Static/Dynamic hotkey, you can choose to make all miscellaneous items in the current cell static or dynamic. Only the project types selected in this setting will be affected.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
