About this mod Machine translation

Use NiOverride to create dyeable items.

WARNING: This mod requires

SKSE64 2.0.16 (or higher)

and

RaceMenu Special Edition 0.4.0 (or higher)

The armor must support the dye system to work!

What does it do?

Added the ability to dye support armor from the menu. Dyed items can be given to other actors and retain their color.

How do I dye my armor?

Go to Alchemy Table or Tabletop and if the mod doesn't encounter any errors on startup, you will have the "Dye" option in addition to "Use Alchemy Table". When the menu opens, you will see a list to the left of currently equipped items or previously dyed items. Select an item and select a color diamond at the bottom, which represents the layer. The first layer usually colors the entire armor, and it is more desirable to choose the next layer that may only color specific parts.

How to remove dye from armor?

In the Dye menu, the rectangle in the Dye list should be transparent when an item is selected. Press the Dye key with no dye selected and it will revert your armor to its default color.

things to know

The dye component is consumed regardless of any dyeing. Know the number of layers of items you are dying before dyeing. The system has no way of telling what layers are available when staining, nor does it know what the default color is, it only knows that there are up to 15 layers, and what is currently covered.

Weapons are not supported yet, only Armor.

Differences from LE

No layer limit, only UI limit to 15 layers

Now supports positioning any layer (diffuse, normal, specular, environment, irradiance map)

Base shader type no longer changes

The mask size will be scaled to the size of the source texture

Before blending, masks are iterated rather than combined. Overlapping masks will have an overlapping effect

There are now various blending modes

New hybrid shaders can be created (the shader program name must be the name of the file and be lowercase)

Why are there three plugins and you can't make it into one?

There are 3 plugins, as it may be necessary to completely remove the default ingredients for overhaul mods, in which case you can simply disable DyeManagerDefaults.esl, or overwrite the included script with your own ingredient list. UIExtensions contains all the menu resources and this is where all my custom menus are, whereas I can only integrate DyeMenu into the main module, which I won't do, UIExtensions are also shared with the Extensible Follower Framework.

How do I add more dye ingredients, or replace existing ones?

Dye components are managed by NiOverride and defaults are managed by DyeManagerDefaults.esl. You can disable this feature if you want to use your own entirely. You can add more dye components using the NiOverride.RegisterFormDyeColor(Form akForm, int colorAARRGGBB) function. You have to use it on Initialize and Game Reload, these functions are very fast so t …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
