Dolomite - TrueStorms Compatibility Patch
Carrying all ambient rain, thunder and internal rain sounds from True Storms for use with Dolomite, it will override all True Storm's audio if used together without the patch. There are two different versions, specifically for foggy weather (all other changes remain the same).

I've noticed a lot of people running Dolomite Weather and Real Storm together by loading Dolomite without a patch after Real Storm. The only problem with this setup is that loading a real storm would be a bit pointless at that point, since Dolomite will cover almost every aspect of the mod except for the indoor rain sounds. I know that for a lot of people, a major (if not the main) benefit of True Storms is that it adds awesome thunder, which would be completely overridden if Dolomite was loaded without the patch.
So I decided to solve this problem :) There is very little "mixing" between the two mods, as they both make very similar changes and therefore look very similar, as shown in the screenshot. Again, the main difference is in the audio, which should be a pretty noticeable change. There are no patches, just a single crack of thunder that repeats periodically throughout the storm. With the patch, you will hear many different variations of real storm thunder playing at different intervals, which will greatly improve the atmosphere of your storm.
The only thing that makes a big difference visually is the rain particles, which I tried to compare in the screenshot, although it's a bit hard to see. I find that TrueStorms rain tends to look heavier and creates a more intense atmosphere, whereas Dolomite rain is very clear and crisp. I've made sure you can choose both based on your preference, just change your load order, which is detailed below. The load order is mainly for rain particles only, as the snow particles from both mods are basically the same.
The patch is divided into two major versions and covers all the ambiguous weather in the game. Here's exactly what's included in these versions:
- Heavy fog version -
For those who like their very dense fog, it won't make any changes to the Dolomite fog effect or weather. It also carries all of True Storms' unique fog weather, giving it some extra fog, redistributing them across zone data and adjusting their rarities to help them integrate more seamlessly with Dolomite's weather systems.
-Light mist version-
Removed all foggy weather from the game and replaced the Dolomite fog effect with a lighter version of True Storm. This version also directly integrates LoD7995's Water's Edge Fix into all weather, which creates realistic storms and dolomite water's edge effects. This waterside visual is caused by heavy fog during certain weather periods, and the way the fix works is to massively reduce the fog in most weathers, which is why it only exists in the fog version. I've posted some screenshots comparing the two versions of Water's Edge and Loadout to help you decide if you want to trade the weather for heavy fog for smoother water. If you have this version loaded, you no longer need to load Water's Edge Fix esp.
Both versions can only change foggy weather. As mentioned above, they each come with all the changes to the storm audio and effects.
Install and load orders
This patch requires Dolomite and TrueStorms to be loaded. It should always load last, but Dolomite and TrueStorms can be loaded in any order, depending on which rainfall effects you want to kee …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
