About this mod Machine translation
Required file for my Revenancy mod that allows all custom races to have proper dialogue with them, for custom races that are made due to some disease (e.g. vampires) and can be cured with the proper quest (Companions, Dawnguard)
information
This mod will be a required file for my Revenancy mod (as of 6/17/17) and will allow Revenants to be properly detected as any race initially for dialogue purposes. Also allows Revenancy to be healed through Dawnguard missions and Companion missions, opening up more ways to heal.
This mod is not specific to Revenancy, but it allows modders to add race keywords to any custom race, as well as having appropriate conversations with them, and for custom races that are caused by a disease (e.g. vampires) that can be cured with the appropriate quest (Companions, Dawnguard).
In this way, it's similar to race compatibility, but again, it includes all race-specific dialogue.
If your race is undead, it will allow you to bypass the Soul Cairn portal requirement for vampires/soul traps.
compatibility
Basically incompatible with mods that modify race-specific dialogue, so if they are the main file and you need those changes, put those mods after this.
However, this mod must be loaded after the unofficial Special Edition patch and includes its edits to dialogue and quests where relevant. For some tasks, some scripts have been overwritten.
Holy and vampire are incompatible
Instructions for use
Always backup your custom race models
Just make sure you really want to add the dependency before doing
Using this resource will make your mod dependent on this file. In order to use your user, your user must also have this capability. Please keep this in mind.
If your race does not have a vampire form, but is not a transformed race like vampires, this resource will be of no use to you.
- To make your custom race compatible using this resource, make the new race include the vampire version (if not undead yet) as usual, and don't forget to make the head form list etc, then save the esp file.
If your race is a new form that affects all original races, such as vampires, then the easiest way to ensure compatibility is to make it compatible to be able to store their original race and change the player to the new race, then change them back to the stored race when the ability effect ends. This way, it can be quickly removed later.
- Open your race mod as the active file using Creation Kit again, but this time check the CustomRaceDialogueQuestFramework.esm box so that it is loaded as well.
Once the loading process is complete, save and your file will depend on my resources.
- Add the ActorRace keyword that you think is best for your custom race, or the ActorRaceArgonianFramework if your race is similar to Argonian.
If your race is undead and you want the Dawnguard quest to reflect that fact, add the ActorTypeUndead keyword as well and the Soul Cairn portal will not harm your race.
If you have a vampire table for your competition, now is the time to make sure it has the correct keywords as well.
If your race does not have a vampire form (because it is a new one), read 4a. If there is indeed a vampire form, read 4b.
4a) Add each version of the new race to the ExcludedRaceListFramework form list, which should have 10 forms, 1 for each standard race.
Looking at the StandardRaceListFramework and ExcludedRaceListFramework lists, each race counterpart should have the same index number on the left, i.e. if your race starts with Argonian, your custom race should be at index 0 in the ExcludedRaceListFramework. This will make the werewolf work properly.
Go to step 5.
4b) Add the normal version of the race to the StandardRaceListFramework form list and the vampire version to the VampireRaceListFramework form list.
Looking at each of these lists, each racial counterpart should have the same index number on the left, i.e. if the normal form of your race is at index 10 on the "standard" list, the vampire form should also be at …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
