I don't recommend using it with a running game. Using this mod means you are testing it.

Crafter's Cloud is my attempt at making crafting storage modules in a non-invasive and usable way. A few mods like this already exist for SSE, but they are either very non-trivial or do too much at once. I wanted to do something simple yet effective; therefore, I did this.

If you want to use any of the configuration options, you need to install SkyUI.

Overview

This mod implements several "making clouds". These are non-respawn containers in inaccessible cells (if you need to get there for some reason, it's "ICC_TestCell") used to store and retrieve items at will. There are six types: Alchemy, Enchanting, Cooking, Tanning, Smithing and Smelting. Whenever you interact with these crafting stations, any items stored in their cloud will be pulled into your inventory for use.

Once they're finished crafting and the workstation is no longer in use, the items will be pushed to their cloud - no strings attached. They don't clutter your inventory, and they're all available to you when you interact with your crafting station again. Best of all, it has a low script load; all scripts in Crafter's Cloud are not attached to your saves and only run when you are connected to your crafting workstation.

Individual storage can also be turned on or off via the mod's MCM menu. Disabled storage will not draw items from your inventory, but will still unload its contents to you when you start crafting. This allows items stored in the disabled cloud to be retrieved without getting stuck.

While Crafter's Cloud isn't exactly user-friendly, it doesn't break your immersion. There are no powers or books to configure the mod; no pop-ups or messages. It runs silently and as long as it has an entry in the MCM you know it's working fine.

If you uninstall this mod without first retrieving your stuff from the cloud, those items will be lost forever. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Overview

Due to the way Skyrim is handled, there will be a slight delay on each item when transferring items back to the cloud, meaning large inventories will take a while. The current implementation makes this inevitable.

Anvils don't seem to work with blacksmith cloud.

future plans

Implement optional unlocking system. Make your cloud work for you, or not.

Enhanced control over MCM, including remote ejection of open storage.

I do not recommend this for a running playthrough. Using this mod means you're beta testing it.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
