This mod allows followers to die and take damage from combat. The chances are slim, but it will keep the game fresh and provide more interesting experiences and narratives when they happen.

About this mod Machine translation
This mod allows followers to die and take damage from combat. The chances are slim, but it will keep the game fresh and provide more interesting experiences and narratives when they happen.
So you know when a minion dies in the heat of battle, you know the only reason they died is because you killed them somehow? Well, now you don't know if it's actually your fault!
To make your gaming narrative more interesting and unpredictable, I present to you...
This mod allows followers to die (killed by other NPCs), and they may also be injured from combat.
Check out HeavyBurn's explanation in the video below for a quick overview. (Starts at 1:10 minutes)
-Every time a follower enters bleeding/kneeling mode, there are 3 possible outcomes:
The minion is very lucky and only takes minimal temporary damage.
→This is the best result. This damage does not stack, lasts for 7 minutes, and reduces its maximum health, stamina, and Magicka by -25. By default, the chance of obtaining this result is 70%. The chances are better if you have a very powerful minion. Full instructions below.
〜
Followers are somewhat lucky and will only take serious damage.
→ Severe injuries last from 2 to 20 days (or you can customize the duration in MCM). They reduce the follower's maximum health, stamina, and mana by -50. Your followers will automatically put a bandage on their head to notify you of the injury. By default, the chance of obtaining this result is 15%, but it is also affected by other factors. As long as your follower doesn't take a second critical damage on top of the first critical damage, it will heal. If they do, it will be permanent. You should treat critical damage as a death warning; it's a very close call to your followers. You can choose to ignore the harm and stay with your partner, but be aware that they risk permanent harm or death. When they're injured, the risk of dying or suffering permanent damage actually increases by 10%... and keep in mind that they're also weaker and more likely to fall during a fight. That said...if you appreciate the life of an entourage, you should send it home to rest.

The attendant unfortunately died.
→May their souls go to Sofgard. Your follower takes irreparable damage. By default, the chance of getting this result is 15%. The higher the level of a follower, the less likely they are to die. Therefore, more powerful minions are less likely to die.
~Default values, factors and formulas~
The chance they'll be fine is 70%. (Not affected by final value, damage and minion level)
Their chance of suffering permanent damage is 15%. (Not affected by final value, damage and minion level)
The chance of them dying is 15%. (Not affected by final value, damage and minion level)
These values can be configured through MCM. Note, however, that even if you choose 0% as the death probability, they are still very unlikely to die. Why? Here’s how it works:
- "dice": a random number between 1 and 100
- Chance of death or injury (customizable, 15% by default)
-Follower_Level: Level x 0.12 (works in their favor, the higher the level, the less likely they are to die or be injured)
-Critical Damage: Is your minion currently taking serious damage? If so, the chance of death/injury increases by 10%.
Mode:
if (100 - "Dice" + "Follow Level" - Critical Damage) < Likelihood of Death = Death
This means that even with a 0% chance of death set in MCM, if your follower takes critical damage, their chance of death will be between 0-10%, depending on their level. TL;DR: Even if you set 0% in MCM, your followers are at risk of dying when injured.
~Compatibility~
There are 3 variations of this mod to ensure compatibility with the most popular follower frameworks, please only use one of the files.
Vanilla version: If you are not using the Follower framework, you should use this version. Interesting NPCs, followers of Serana and other complex follower mods (Inigo, Lucien) will not be affected by this version (they will never be inj …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
