Blacksmith Forge Alternatives to Water Repair
This mod adds a dynamic water layer to the vanilla forged slots. Possible performance impact: create 75 to 100 additional vertices with fixed forgings (negligible) and water activation in some areas that didn't originally have that vertex. Only using resources that are already in the base game and strategically placed by me.

This mod was originally designed by me for PS4. The forging tank lacks a dynamic water layer in the game, which is immersive imo. Although a proper fix already exists on PC and XB1 (see here), it cannot be ported to PS4 due to Sony restrictions: no external assets are allowed. So I had to imagine a different way of doing it.
How?
Basically, it consists of 3 small square water spots added to each forge (except Skyforge, which has 4). These square water spots use the grid that already exists in the vanilla game, which is quite large. Therefore, I had to apply a 0.08 scale factor to it. But once you zoom out to an incredible degree, all water surface rendering effects are no longer visible. Therefore, I had to effect a new water type with adjusted values that allow for a candy-like appearance in the game. Here it is!
Is it better to use this mod or the previous fix?
These two mods are redundant and are fixing the same thing. My mod is an alternative without external assets, fixing all the artifacts from the vanilla game and DLC, while the previous fix (if I remember correctly) was missing a few (Severin Manor, Thirsk Once Rebuilt, Heathfire Manor, and maybe others). I specifically put it here as a reference so that PS4 modders can implement it in their mods by using the resources I provided (plugin + excel math sheet + tutorial).
compatibility:
USSEP: 100% compatible as all minor edits to it are made here, although not required nor mandatory...
JK mods: Not 100% compatible, although there may only be visual weirdness occasionally. Some JK mods are moving vanilla forges (the Riverwood one comes to mind). In this case, my water spots would look out of place. However, you can make a compatibility patch using the resources above.
Other mods: I don't know about it, but can report it in the comments section so other mods can make compatibility patches (no, I won't handle it myself)
Install:
Delete "Blacksmith Forge Water Fix.esp" in your SSE data folder. Activate the plugin in any usual way. There is no specific location in the loading list. Enjoy!
Uninstall:
Delete "Blacksmith Forge Water Fix.esp" from your SSE data folder. When reloading your savegame, just ignore the game warning about missing plugins: since this mod only adds STATIC, it's completely impossible to cause any save corruption...

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
