Basic Positional Damage - Special Edition
[ Require ]
SKSE64_2_00_06 or higher
[describe]
Adds a lightweight angular and location-based positional damage system with the following hit locations:
Head: Very likely to get an instant kill on NPCs unless wearing armor, depending on the weapon. (can be disabled)
Neck: Instant kill or bleed on npcs.
Torso - Front/Back/Side: Side strikes are the most effective target of the torso against armored opponents
Left Arm: Chance of defensive shield if equipped
Right arm: opportunity to disarm
Legs: Temporarily paralyzes the opponent, causing bleeding or dazing, depending on the weapon used and armor worn.
Back Knees: Vulnerable even when fully armored. A successful hit may result in fatal bleeding
Hits on location will have varying levels of effectiveness based on the following factors:
- Use weapons
- Size and quality of opponents
- Whether the target is wearing armor at that location
- Armor level
-The power of attack
Added a menu spell with the following options:
- Ability to adjust positional damage levels
-disable /Enable instant kill on unarmored headshots.
-disable/Enable positional damage effects to players, or NPCs
-disable/enable hit damage reduction - reduces the base weapon damage done by the player so that only positional hits have a significant effect
-disable/enable disarmed item drops - To solve the problem of saving the game, disarmed items will be completely unequipped from NPCs.
-disable/enable locational killmoves - Targeting the head or torso may trigger a kill if the location is unarmored or lightly armored and your combined melee skills are high (IF randomNumber < ((onehanded + twohanded) * 0.6) then try killmove).
[Additional information/Known issues]
-Ranged attacks tend to be slightly higher than the crosshair in SE. This results in this SE version being slightly less accurate for long-range headshots. I plan to address this issue in the future.
- Currently, positional damage does not affect mounted NPCs, Ghosts, Dwarven Automations, and other creatures that cannot be revived: Dragons, Atronachs, etc.
- If many demanding scripts are running simultaneously, you may notice lag effects in large simulated combat scenes.
- On rare occasions, you may encounter an NPC that seems immune to local damage. I haven't been able to fully resolve this issue, so I set up a way to detect when it occurs and remove the hit damage reduction on the affected NPC (if enabled).
Congratulations if you liked it :)

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
