Known issues
Followers are not always able to recognize when a player is wearing a weapon/magic or exiting invisibility. It's a small thing. Just wait for the AI package stack to evaluate itself or force the evaluation using the provided hotkey. Each minion performs this differently, but it's consistent for a given minion.
Sometimes the follower will notice a specific direction and continue to move in that direction despite the player turning around. There is nothing you can do to prevent this. When it happens simply draw/don the weapon, stop and toggle the idle/sandbox key, toggle follow position, or otherwise do something that triggers the AI pack stack. The force evaluation hotkey is insufficient and should not be used in this case.

Overview
This is a direct port to Skyrim Special Edition from the Original Mod on Oldrim's page ( The only thing I have modified is an image in the UI to reflect the port to SSE, I take no responsibility for any work done in the creation of this mod and all credit is owed to the original author, who has given the community permission to offer a Special Edition alternative to the original. This mod is being released in an "As is" condition and will remain in it's current state with all potential faults as at this time I am not familiar enough with what's under the hood to fix any unforeseen issues. It has been tested and found to be working on SkyrimSE across multiple users and hardware.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
