Orc armor/weapon mesh with malachite cubemap. Lean Wolf's better shaped weapon mesh. Works with any texture
I recommend you install the Cathedral Armory first, then install amidianborn's Book of Silence armor and weapons, and use it to override the cathedral's arsenal. The Cathedral Armory has a texture that you don't want to overwrite, but I've included it in the archive so you can overwrite both mods with this. This will give you the amidianborn diffuse, normal and reflection maps, but keep the one reflection map from the Cathedral Armory. This mod just adds meshes and cubemaps.
The meshes in Cathedral Armory are pretty good, but 1) if you use amidianborn textures they end up looking like they're made of iron instead of malachite, and 2) idk if that's a bug or something, but many of the meshes don't actually have environment mapping enabled. They have the correct texture paths, but they are not labeled correctly to actually display the cube map. I've fixed this issue, but I've also changed the cubemap to work better with the amidianborn texture, which is not very green. I also mapped the environment on the armored blunt, but the weapon got a lot brighter. For some reason the armor is set to 1.0 env map scale but the weapons are set to 0.2 making it dimmer than the armor.
Orcs may seem primitive but are actually skilled craftsmen, so I assume they know how to polish metal. So I set both to 0.75, which in my opinion should be duller than elven or steel armor, but brighter than iron. Since I was using a gray Armedebone texture, I decided to use a cube map so that the malachite should have a green iridescence. In other words, the material itself is not green, just the cubemap. I guess this is more similar to how color refraction works in the real world. So this means you can use any texture you want, but the most beautiful textures I find are amidianborn ones. (If you know of anyone else please feel free to let me know) The mod is hosted on oldrim link but the textures are SSE compatible. Regarding that mod, I think only the blade armor is incompatible and there is a fix.
Everything has been checked by nifscan and there are no errors. The armor mesh is based on the original mesh. There are some mesh replacements in USSEP and I use them as starting points whenever possible. The weapon mesh is based on LeanWolf's thinner weapon mesh. Warhammer is based on the USSEP grid. If you want Malachite Ore and Ingot to look similar, it is recommended that you try CC's Enhanced Veins. The silicon ingots are not as iridescent as my armor mesh. I may do a malachite mod in the future if anyone wants it.

I recommend you install Cathedral Armory, then install amidianborn book of silence armor AND weapons, overwriting cathedral armory with it. There's one texture from Cathedral Armory that you don't want to overwrite, but I've included it in the archive so you can just overwrite both mods with this. That will give you the diffuse, normal, and reflection maps from amidianborn, but preserve one reflection map from cathedral armory. This mod just adds meshes and a cubemap.
The meshes in Cathedral Armory are nice but 1) if you use amidianborn's textures they end up looking like they're made out of iron, not malachite, and 2) idk if it's a mistake or what, but a lot of the meshes don't actually have environment mapping enabled. They have the right texture paths but they're not flagged correctly to actually display the cube maps. I fixed that but I also changed the cube maps to work better with amidianborn's textures, which aren't very green. I also made the environment maps on the armor duller but the weapons shinier. For some reason the armor was set to 1.0 env map scale, but the weapons were set to 0.2, making them much duller than the armor.
The orcs may seem primitive but they are actually expert craftsmen, so I think they know how to polish metal. So I went with 0.75 for both, it should look duller …
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
