✨ About Minaret Radio

Spire Radio is a mod that allows you to easily create your own audio atmosphere for Slay the Spire 2.

It currently supports MP3 files, which you can load into game files, and ZIP files for easy-to-share audio collections.

When you enter a room, Minaret Radio will play the corresponding MP3 file from your computer if you have audio set up for that type of room.

---

🎧 Add audio track

The operation is very simple! Simply drag the MP3 file you want to play when encountering a specific room from your file system and drop it into the game window to load it.

When loading a file in a battle room, you'll see two card options:

  • **For MP3 files**: You can choose to register it as a **loop sound effect** (repeatedly played) or a **one-time sound effect** (played once immediately when entering combat, more suitable for sound effects).
  • **For ZIP files**: You can choose to **load the audio package** or **not load the audio package**. Please make sure you trust the author of the ZIP file before accepting it, as loading ZIP files from unknown sources can cause problems.

Depending on your selection, the file will be loaded accordingly. This card selection behavior should be purely a UI feature, if you find it changes gameplay please report it to me.

❤️‍🩹 Add low health sound effects

You can configure a low health alert.

In your audio package folder, create an audio file named `HP__[value].mp3`.

**Example:**

  • `HP_VALUE_40.mp3` -> Continue to play when the health value is less than or equal to 40**.
  • `HP_VALUE_20.oneshot.mp3` -> Played once** when health** drops below 21.
  • `HP_PERCENT_10.mp3` -> Continue playing when the health value is less than or equal to 10% of the maximum health value.
  • `HP_PERCENT_30.oneshot.mp3` -> Played once** when health** drops below 31% of maximum health.

📁 File structure navigation

The audio files used by Spire Radio are organized in a specific way so that the mod can easily identify the MP3 files associated with the room. It utilizes the room IDs used by the game whenever possible, which should make the mod relatively compatible with other mods.

The sound files are located in the game's mods folder with a path similar to `Slay The Spire 2/mods/SpireRadio`. There is a subfolder called `sounds` where all sound effects are stored for easy access and modification. MP3 files for the `None` profile are stored directly in this `sounds` folder, other profiles will create folders based on the names selected in the configuration.

Each audio file will be named `.mp3` or `.oneshot.mp3`. Whether a sound effect plays once at the start of combat depends on the name, renaming it will change its behavior.

---

🔄 Switch audio package

There are currently **10 audio package slots** (11 if you count that no specific slot is selected). An audio pack slot is a set of sound effects files that you can switch to different slots to create different profiles for different moods or different players.

---

📦 Create audio package (ZIP)

To create an audio package to share with the world, first drag and drop your file into the room you want to modify, or create the file directly if you have the expertise. Then **zip all files** in that folder (select them directly) and send the ZIP file to others. When they drag the ZIP file into the game while the game is running, it will load your audio pack in their currently active audio pack slot.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
