About this mod Machine translation

I meet basic needs (eating, drinking, sleeping) in subtle, non-punitive ways

Available SSE versions: https://www..com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/16308

illustrate

Basic needs are a common target for mods, as food and drink in the vanilla game are completely useless and sleeping is only a negligible bonus to skill advancement. This mod brings more weight to these game mechanics, but fails to introduce a survival microgame where one needs to keep large amounts of food and drink in one's inventory or stay close to an inn every few hours.

The aim is to encourage eating, drinking and sleeping without distracting from the rest of the game.

Vitality Mode can be launched immediately from the MCM. If not booting from the MCM, you can choose to start Vitality Mode within one game hour of completing the "No Limits" tutorial mission, or use a different launch mode.

When starting the mod, hunger, thirst, and fatigue will be tracked. As you travel across Skyrim, these attributes slowly increase from 0% to 100%. When all attributes are below 10%, the vitality bonuses to base stamina, health regeneration, mana card regeneration, and disease resistance are applied. If any attribute exceeds 60%, a similar debuff will be applied. If any attribute reaches 100%, you will die. However, unless you're extremely negligent or configure your attribute growth to be more restrictive, it's very difficult to achieve debuffs and death.

To reduce hunger, eat more food. Satiety rating for all foods:

Low: Default 5% hunger reduction

Average: Reduces hunger by 10% by default

Good: 15% hunger reduction by default

High: Reduces hunger by 20% by default

Certain raw foods, such as meat, are considered unsafe and may reduce satiety until cooked. Likewise, certain alchemical ingredients contribute little to hunger.

To reduce thirst, drink something. Non-alcoholic drinks reduce thirst by 20% by default, alcoholic drinks reduce thirst by 10% by default, and certain foods (such as soups or stews) also reduce thirst by 5% by default. Given that almost every drink in Skyrim is alcoholic, there are no other negative effects from alcohol. Purified water can be purchased from the innkeeper or used to create purified water in a pot using collected water. Water can be collected from stagnant pools and waterfalls by "equipping" empty containers in your inventory. Valid empty containers are buckets, jugs, flagons and empty wine bottles. Filled containers are edible, but they have reduced thirst-quenching properties compared to pure water. Finally, if you don't have a suitable empty container, you can drink directly from the water collected by the hotkey.

To reduce fatigue, sleep on any bed. A full night's sleep (default is 8 hours) will completely eliminate fatigue and moderately reduce fatigue, but sleeping less than a full night will not eliminate fatigue.

Werewolves are not punished by raw food, and their fatigue increases half as fast.

Vampires can only reduce hunger and thirst by consuming blood or blood potions.

Cannibals can reduce hunger by eating corpses or certain ingredients without incurring the raw food penalty.

The increase and decrease of attributes is highly configurable, and if a food or drink cannot be recognized, there is an option to add one with the appropriate statistics. Additionally, instrument widgets can be shown or hidden directly in the MCM or using configurable hotkeys that display the current attribute status. All configuration can be done via the provided MCM.

The default gauge widget color indicates the attribute to be tracked. Orange represents hunger, cyan represents thirst, and white represents fatigue. Icon widget colors also indicate which attribute is tracked, but they correspond to vitality bonuses and penalties. White means below the bonus threshold, yellow means above the bonus threshold but below the penalty threshold, and red mean …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
