About this mod Machine translation
ReQuest Sources is a core mod that will form the basis of any ReQuest mod. It adds new dungeon assets and tools and is available to the community.
- introduce -

Over 1,100 new assets
21 new voice files

New Snow Cave Asset
New gray Nordic dungeon assets

New dungeon external assets
script
ReQuest Sources currently has 3 new scripts:
FMMbuttonkillplayer - An example of a script that kills the player when something is pressed: You are in a dungeon, and there is a button and you press it. You will be killed.
FMMKillOnEnterScript - Script to kill player on enter trigger box
FMMTriggerBoxSpeedScript - Script to slow down the player in a specific trigger box
voice file
ReQuest Sources currently has many new voice files. All sound files are idle draugr lines in dovahzul (Note: Currently, all voice lines are from one voice actor as a proof of concept. Voice lines from the other three actors will appear soon)
- Require -
All required is a copy of original Skyrim (see FAQ for special edition support). No DLC is currently required.
- Install -
Install using your preferred mod manager or manually extract the files to your data folder (the data folder is the skyrim.esm, update.esm, etc. folder. This should not be the folder with TESV.exe) but please note that if you don't have another ReQuest mod installed or another mod that requires ReQuest Source, no changes will be made to your game other than replacing the new intro video from Bethesda. For now, most people will probably want to install it manually in order to use ReQuest Sources with the Creation Kit.
- Frequently Asked Questions -
Q: When will the special edition be released?
A: Currently, we will only be releasing a Legend version to make initial changes to our workflow easier before ReQuest - Forbidden Legend. However, we plan to eventually release a special edition of Sources and all other ReQuest mods (we need to start with LE instead of SE because backporting is not possible, whereas mods can be ported from LE to SE)
Q: Why did this take you so long to make?
A: Well, when ReQuest first started, we had done a lot of preliminary planning and decisions before we started working on ReQuest - Forbidden Legend. This took several months. Additionally, we did not initially plan to provide core models for ReQuest, the idea came about later. ReQuest Sources was only in production for part of the time that the ReQuest project existed.
Q: When will ReQuest - Forbidden Legend come out?
Answer: When it is completed
Q: I think you are rebuilding the mission instead of creating new assets and recording new voice files
A: Yes, we are still planning tasks to improve Skyrim. However, to do this, it needs new assets to enhance the location and add uniqueness. It's the little details that make Skyrim a great game. For voice files, we need some uniqueness. This remains the final part of our plan to improve Skyrim missions
- renew -
We plan to continue updating ReQuest Sources with improvements, bug fixes, and adding new assets, sound files, and scripts as needed to contribute to new ReQuest mods and help the community. As of now, this is not the final version of ReQuest Sources.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
