About this mod Machine translation

Like my previous ENBs, I tried to keep this performance friendly while maintaining very high image quality, similar to the new generation of video games.

I've seen new ReShade solutions trying to emulate Nvidia's RTX features like ray tracing, path tracing, and global illumination.

I've found that the performance impact is quite significant for screen space based effects (because in path tracing like global illumination it only happens based on what the image shows, so it cuts out at the edges).

Finally, I came up with my own solution to emulate all these good effects while still maintaining high performance.

I know this isn't really a benefit of Ray Tracing and all the details that come with it but I think, considering it's still DirectX 9 and we're talking about it, it's pretty close, but more importantly, you can enjoy similar effects that mimic Skyrim without giving up performance.

Please enjoy and leave feedback, I'll be gone for a week on release but if there are any issues I'll be sure to update ENB.

As usual, it's compatible with all weather and lighting modes, just give it a try.

Cheers, about Ed.

Specification:

  • Advanced SSAO solution that mimics Nvidia's HBAO+ but is more performance friendly
  • Indoor and outdoor dynamic light scattering based on one of the best BLOOM effects solutions (Credit prod80)

-Deep shadows and screen space shadows by objects close to

-far shadow

-Water effect

-Thinking about real-time screen space

  • Improve effects and colors

-Subtle dynamic lens effect,

I recommend using the following mods, to complete the visual spectrum:

  • Obsidian Weather
  • Dragonborn DLC GLACIER FIX
  • Movie Light Sprite (candles and lanterns)
  • Obsidian Mountain

fog

  • DYNAVISION - Dynamic depth of field * Lore realistic grass
  • Enhance vanilla tree

Notice:

I recommend you go to the ENB Video Ram Size Test website and see how much Video Ram you have available.

After that, visit enblocal.ini (in the WrapperVersion folder or the Skyrim folder - as the case may be) and find the [MEMORY] section - more specifically the VideoMemorySizeMb line and change it using the number shown by the VRAM test tool. (To me it looks like this VideoMemorySizeMb = 16224).

Also, I recommend (not mandatory) to modify ReservedMemorySizeMb under [MEMORY] section. The default value is ReservedMemorySizeMb = 64, which is a good enough balance between performance and input latency. From the STEP guide: ''This parameter sets the size of the buffer used to exchange geometry and textures between VRAM and system memory. The buffer will be set up in VRAM, this part of VRAM will not be used for ENBoost's dynamic memory allocation; however, it will also be duplicated in the system memory used by TESV.exe

Same. This means that increasing the value of this parameter will result in an equal increase in VRAM and system RAM usage. The values here are in megabytes. For video cards with 1GB of VRAM or more, start with 128 as a baseline. If the stuttering persists, increase the value in increments of 128 (256, 384, 512, etc.) until the stuttering st …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
