About this mod Machine translation

A zEdit patch that gives users close to full control over NPC and player statistics, including health, magic, stamina, regeneration rate, carry weight and combat penalties.

summary

Skyrim's stats are a bit strange: NPCs suffer from severe stat bloat. As they level up, their health pool grows very quickly, turning mid-level enemies forward into damaged sponges. Additionally, many NPCs have ridiculously fast magic regeneration, making it virtually impossible to run out of them. Even players can be called upon to hit the ball with tentacles, bat 300 weight and troll-style health regeneration. NPC Stat Rescaler solves this problem, but more importantly, it gives users close to complete control over NPC and player statistics, including health, magic, stamina, regeneration rate, carry weight, and combat penalties. Users can adjust it to their heart's content, but the default configuration produces a fairer, faster, and more balanced Skyrim.

Racial health, magic and stamina

All races start with baseline values of health, magic, and stamina. These are the stats for a player or NPC at level 1, assuming they don't have a specific offset (see below for more information on offsets). Hotfix treats playable and non-playable matches differently. For non-playable races (Trolls, Rabbits, etc.), the NPC Stat rescaler allows you to change these using the following parameters:

Racial health transformation (default = 50)

Racial Health Scale (0.5)

Racial Magic Transfer (0)

Racial Magic Scale (1)

Racial Stamina Transfer (0)

Racial Endurance Scale (1)

When the patch runs, it changes the value as follows:

new stat = old stat * scale + shift

Overall, vanilla isn't too bad a value, but some matches are a little wonky. So the default patch behavior halves all racial health (racial health level = 0.5) but adds 50 health, otherwise low hp races (like wolves) will end up very weak.

For playable races (Argon, Arctic, etc.), players can set specific values for each race instead of using the above formula. This is done through parameters called "Racial Health, Orc", "Racial Magicka, Wood Elf", etc. Carry weight is also exposed this way, so you can change the starting carry weight for different races. Regardless of which values you choose, these will be the starting values if you choose to enter the competition.

The default modder behavior for all playable races is to set health, magic, and stamina to 100, and weight to 200 (vanilla's 300 is overkill if you ask me), but users are free to customize them.

Class Health, Magicka and Stamina Weights

All NPCs are assigned a class (even things like draugr and rabbit) that determine how their health, magic, and stamina change as they level up. Just like players, they gain 10 "stat points" per level and can assign them to health, magic, or stamina, and each class has weights to determine how much each attribute is weighted to determine how many points go into that stat. In vanilla, these classes tend to support health, which means that as enemies level up, they become very frank, even for NPCs who should have their stats elsewhere (like mages). NPC Stat Rescaler allows users to move class weights via three parameters:

Class health scale (default = 1)

Magicka-like scale (1.5)

Class Endurance Level (1.5)

When the patch runs, it changes the value as follows:

new weight = old weight * scale

So, by default, the class emphasizes magic and stamina more, and (therefore) has a slightly smaller impact on health.

NPC Health, Magicka and Stamina Offsets

In addition to their racial baseline stats, as well as the stats gained from leveling, many NPCs gain "bonus" stats called offsets. These offsets are common and can number in the thousands. NPC Stat Rescaler allows you to adjust using the following parameters:

NPC health offset multiplayer (default = 0.2)

NPC magicka offset mult(1)

NPC Stamina Offset Multiplayer (1)

When the patch runs, it changes the value as follows:

new offset = old offset * mult

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
