About this mod Machine translation
When the player dies, he will continue playing as his son, who will be placed in a random location and who will be edited by the player. His skills and levels will take a hit, but he will retain his father's mission and property. Revenge is possible if a killer is of course not necessary.
concept
This mod redefines the concept of death in Skyrim. When the played game dies, instead of being forced to reload the old save game, it will be taken to a random place where the creation of his son/daughter will start (even though the text of the book/quest still has to be dynamic). From that point on, the player takes on his role, and so on.
The son/daughter of the last player character will have similar attributes to their father/mother, but will be debuffed, and will retain their father/mother's properties (house, horses, etc.) and quests. All the father's belongings will be lost, but if he/she is killed by someone, the courier will contact the son/daughter and send him a letter that will start the REVENGE mission. If the player is not killed by an NPC but in an accident or something like that, the courier will still arrive but no mission will start. In this mission, the son/daughter can kill (if not necessarily) his father/mother's killer and take from him the weapon that father/mother was equipped at the time of death (if he had one), now renamed "Mother/Father's Legacy", and the gold that father/mother held at the time of death.
Quest items will not be removed from the player (to avoid interrupting the quest as I haven't found a solution yet), but all other items will be placed in chests in Whiterun's guardhouse (as stated in the letter). This happens no matter what. So even if you don't have to go on a revenge mission, you can always recover your items.
The player blistering process involves a possible slight reduction in player level (up to 5 levels), up to a 10 point reduction in all player skills if above 20. This number may change, but for now it would work like this.
The current version (0.2) is somewhat stable. Still a lot of work to do :)
As with every mod in its early stages, especially since we're dealing with Death Mechanics, I highly recommend starting a new game.
compatibility
For now, this mod should be fully compatible with all other mods. Possible exceptions are mods that work on death-related functionality.
Change log
Version 0.2-
There are two situations now.
1) Player killed by NPC: Revenge mission and parent’s item recovery (optional)
2) The player died in other ways: still receive a condolence letter and place the item in the designated location
-Added a line to the player's parent killer to allow forgiveness of him/her.
- Fixed some bugs like: items being stolen after death, sometimes not even resurrected (I hope) and other minor changes
-The letters now contain the murderer's name.
-All text is made gender neutral, as are parent weapon names.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
