About this mod Machine translation

Getting killed no longer forces you to reload your last save; instead, you become a ghost for about fifteen seconds and are given a chance to leave the area.

The Death and Resurrection of ESO

In vanilla Skyrim, dying forces you to sit on your butt and wait for the last save to load. It's boring, uninteresting, and "punishes" the player for dying (wasting all the time spent since the last save) in a way that's both tedious and unimaginative.

This mod implements Elder Scrolls Online-style death in Skyrim. When you are killed, you become a ghost for about fifteen seconds. While in this state, you cannot interact with NPCs, locked doors, harvestable plants, containers, or items, and you cannot fight. This is an opportunity to get out of a situation that you are not prepared for.

This mod is a bit experimental. I've given it a serious "lab test", but I haven't used any large-scale hardcore gameplay, so I didn't die enough in casual games to count as "testing" the gameplay there.

feature

When you are killed, you become a void ghost. In this form, NPCs cannot detect you even if they are scripted to attack you. You will stay like this for about 15 seconds.

By default, resurrecting at the point of death requires a soul-filled gem. On-site resurrection outside recently discovered settlements, towns or cities is free. It can be configured using an INI file.

Inanimate players cannot loot items, interact with locked doors, or talk to NPCs.

If you are killed while being pursued by guards, your bounty to the guard faction will be forcibly repaid and your loot will be confiscated.

Death count on ActorBase increased. This means other mods can check how many times you have died by using GetDeadCount on the base Player/Prisoner form. DLL

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
