About this mod Machine translation

This mod brings athletics back to Skyrim. Increase your speed and jump height by sprinting, jumping and swimming. The more you train, the better you will get! Fully customizable via MCM! Introducing several new athletic abilities such as synchronized sprinting and jumping...

Note: I did not create this mod, I learned *ish* how to modify it to use this mod in Skyrim SE. All credit for the original work goes to Volek, who put in an extraordinary effort to make it so seamless. The SSE version requires the latest SSE, SKSE64 and SkyUI. Original description of Oldrim mod:

Track and Field Training v1.41 (by Volek, featuring Deathless Aphrodite and Spinner385)

Requires Skyrim 1.8, SKSE 1.6.6 and SkyUI 3.1. - Not applicable to SSE, see instructions in italics above.

This mod brings athletics back to Skyrim. Increase your speed and jump height by sprinting, jumping and swimming. The more you train, the better you will get!

After enjoying Morrowind's athletics skills, and especially Oblivion's, I was very disappointed that Skyrim didn't have anything related to athletics.

The first step I took to fix this was my pre-CK pattern of higher jumps and longer sprints. Later I made a more advanced mod, SKSE Athletics, which calculated speed and jump height from endurance, stock weight, and a few other factors. Now I've added the training aspect to this mod and also added MCM support for convenience and fun.

feature:

Train your motor skills: the more you jump, the higher you can jump. The longer the sprint, the faster it runs. Swimming improves all motor skills. The higher your jump height and speed, the higher your tolerance for fall damage.

Every 3 seconds, the script recalculates your jump height and running speed. MCM lets you adjust this rate.

Each race has different athletic abilities, for example Khajiits are more agile than high elves, so they will run faster and jump higher by default. You can change these boni in MCM.

Vampires gain additional boosts to speed and jump height (compatible with "Better Vampires"). You can change this reward in MCM.

As your training progresses, you'll gain levels and unlock several abilities: synchronized sprinting and jumping, power sprinting, water sprinting, better stamina gain/loss rates, and more.

Your current stamina affects running and jumping, making you slower when tired. You can adjust or disable this feature in MCM.

You're more agile after resting, and slowly become slower when you're awake for long periods of time. A quick nap won't help, you need a good night's sleep. You can adjust or disable this feature in MCM.

Inventory weight slows you down, but you can use Fortify Carry potions and magic to counteract this effect. You can always move, but if your inventory is too heavy, you may not be able to jump anymore. You can adjust or disable this feature in MCM.

Your weight also has a small impact on exercise. A weight of 50 is optimal, any higher or lower will make you slower (compatible with Pumping Iron). If desired, the weight factor can be turned off in MCM.

MCM features:

Skills Page: A basic overview of your athletic skills and abilities. You can see your current athletic level, your special abilities (locked abilities are grey), and your race-specific bonuses. If you use "Better Vampire" you will also see your vampire level and extra bonus.

Statistics page: Learn more about your sports statistics. Track your training efforts and display the values flowing into athletics calculations.

Options page: Here you can customize your track and field training. There are many useful options, mouseover each option for explanation. Use cheats and debugging options at your own risk! Save your game before messing up. You have been warned!

ability:

There are currently 5 new skills to unlock.

Synchronized Sprinting and Jumping: Newbie ability, unlocked after approximately 50 jumps and 50 sprint seconds. Allows you to jump while sprint …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
