About this mod Author’s original text
EngineerUnlimitedTurrets
Engineer turret limit scales as max(3, charges) for Risk of Rain 2 — e.g., 9 charges = 9 turrets.
Simple BepInEx 5 Mono mod using On.RoR2.CharacterMaster.GetDeployableSameSlotLimit. No config — limit reads GenericSkill.maxStock for Special (includes Lysate Cell EquipmentMagazineVoid and other bonusStockFromBody). Floor 3 so you never get fewer than vanilla+1. Covers both TR12 Gauss (stationary) and TR58 Carbonizer (mobile) — they share DeployableSlot.EngiTurret.
Install
r2modman
- Install dependencies: BepInExPack and HookGenPatcher (auto-installed)
- Drop EngineerUnlimitedTurrets.dll into BepInEx/plugins/EngineerUnlimitedTurrets/ or import the.zip via Import local mod
Manual
Copy plugins/EngineerUnlimitedTurrets/EngineerUnlimitedTurrets.dll to Risk of Rain 2/BepInEx/plugins/EngineerUnlimitedTurrets.
How It Works
Hooks RoR2.CharacterMaster.GetDeployableSameSlotLimit(DeployableSlot):
slot == DeployableSlot.EngiTurret? Mathf.Max(3, body.skillLocator.special.maxStock): orig(self, slot)
Falls back to 1 + EquipmentMagazineVoid when body unavailable. No prefab edits, no save impact. Multiplayer: host and clients need the mod (networkMode: both).
Verification
- Launch via r2modman Start modded
- Engineer with 1 charge: place 4th turret — oldest should not die (floor 3)
- Engineer with 9 charges (e.g., 8 Lysate Cells): place 9, 10th should kill oldest; 9 should coexist
- Check BepInEx/LogOutput.log for EngineerUnlimitedTurrets 1.1.0 loaded — EngiTurret limit scales as max(3, charges)
Performance
99 turrets is already heavy (AI tick). If you stress-test 100+, expect FPS drop — that's vanilla AI cost, not this mod.
Development
- Target: netstandard2.1 (RoR2.dll uses 2.1, 2.0 fails CS1705), BepInEx 5.4.2122, HookGenPatcher 1.2.9, Mono (not IL2CPP)
- Build: dotnet build -c Release → bin/Release/netstandard2.1/EngineerUnlimitedTurrets.dll

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
