Reduce Fog Intensity
🌫️ About this mod
This mod reduces the intensity of fog and bloom by editing game configuration files to make the game look sharper and cleaner. But we still retained a small part of the effect to maintain the sense of depth and distance in the scene and make the overall atmosphere look more natural.
🛠️ How to use
- You need to install **ScriptHook** and **Lenny's Mod Loader RDR** first.
- Then put the `lml` folder into your game directory.
**💡 Tips**: Due to the reduced fog, I recommend you turn down the sharpening level of DLSS/FSR2/TAA to avoid over-sharpening artifacts.

🔧 Technical details
This mod is based on the original mod, but changes the way it works. The vanilla mod simply sets `fog_start` to 500, which causes fog closer than that distance to not be drawn.
I kept `fog_start` at 0, but multiplied a series of fog-related parameters by adjustment factors:
- `"local_atmosphere_fog_density"`:0.2
- `"local_atmosphere_localized_fog_density_mult"`:0.2
- `"local_atmosphere_fog_volume_mist_density_mult"`:0.2
- `"local_atmosphere_fog_volume_dust_density_mult"`:0.2
- `"local_atmosphere_fog_volume_pollution_density_mult"`:0.2
- `"local_atmosphere_fog_volume_smoke_density_mult"`:0.2
- `"postfx_intensity_bloom"`:0.13
- `"postfx_bloom_fog_mod_intensity"`:0.13
- `"postfx_vignette_intensity"`:0.0
- `"local_atmosphere_cloud_density"`:0.4
In this way, we achieve a smoother, more natural fog reduction effect, rather than a simple "one-size-fits-all" removal.
Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
