🧙♂️ About the mod
**The Dead Rise...**
Arthur Morgan is gifted with mysterious powers and becomes a **Beast Mage**! He gains two core abilities:
- **Summon Familiar** 🐺: Summon a loyal animal companion from the void to fight alongside you.
- **RESURVIVE ANIMALS** 💀: Make fallen animals stand up again and fight for you.
Of course, there's a price to pay for using these powerful powers - they drain Arthur's **Death Eye** energy.
What's even more troublesome is that Arthur is burdened with a **curse**: any human being killed by his own hands will rise from the grave in a more powerful undead form to avenge you! You need to make full use of your animal army to deal with this crisis.
🎮 Core gameplay
### Summon the familiar
Press and hold the **Whistle** button. After a few seconds, if you have enough Death Eyes, all familiars defined in the profile will be summoned to you.
### Resurrection of animals
Aim your weapon at the dead animal on the ground and press the **Block** button. If Death Eyes are sufficient, the creature will be resurrected.
### Give an order
You can fine-tune your animal troops:
- **Select Target**: Aim the weapon at an animal and press the **Block** key to select it.
- **Give instructions**:
- Aim at the enemy or animal and press Block → **Attack Command**.
- Aim at the ground and press Block → **Move to this position**.
⚠️ **Note**: Commanding resurrected undead animals to attack will cause them to rush towards the target and **self-destruct**. Commanding the familiar to attack will lead to regular combat.
- **Follow**: Whistle again to command all summoned/resurrected animals to follow you.
- **Area Attack**: Press the block key directly without aiming at any target to order them to attack all nearby enemies.
### Undead enemies
When Arthur kills a human, they are eventually resurrected as undead.
**IMPORTANT NOTE**: Resurrection time depends on whether the mod has "collected" the corpse. The module will collect nearby humans at set intervals (controlled by `collect_peds` in the INI file). Only humans collected by the mod and killed by Arthur himself will be resurrected.
These undead enemies have extremely high health, but their weaknesses are also obvious:
- 🔥 **Flame**
- 💧 **Water** (even a small puddle will work)
- 🔫 **Headshot**
⚙️ Installation and configuration
### Prerequisites
- Script Hook RDR2:
- ScriptHookRDR2.NET:
### Installation steps
- In the RDR2 game installation directory, create a folder named `scripts` (if it does not already exist).
- Copy the downloaded `Beastmancer.dll` and `Beastmancer.ini` files to the `scripts` folder.
**Source code repository**:
### INI file configuration
You can customize your familiar in the `Beastmancer.ini` file!
**Example configuration**:
```ini
[global]
allies=Artemis,Teddy...
[Artemis]
name=Artemis
model=A_C_Cougar_01
speed_multiplier=10
[Teddy]
name=Teddy
model=A_C_BearBlack_01
speed_multiplier=8
```
- **Add/Modify familiars**: Following the example, create a separate block for each familiar and add its name to the `allies` value under `[global]` (separated by commas).
- **Change animal model**: Modify the `model` value under each familiar block. For a list of models, please refer to:
**⚠️ WARNING**: It is not recommended to modify the value of `collect_peds`. This value determines the time interval for the module to collect surrounding creatures (used to track the undead). Setting it too short may cause the game to crash.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
