PEAK Scout Cannons
A full scout-cannon overhaul for PEAK. Aim them, pick them back up, see where you may land with a visible trajectory, launch more than just scouts, and still crank the force if you want to.
This is the extended rework of my older mod Stronger Auto Scout Cannons that only touched fuse timer and force changes.
Any bugs, feedback, or praises can be launched directly into the PEAK modding discord at this post PEAK Scount Cannons
Features
- Stronger cannons — Boost launch, item, backpack, and push force (host). Pull force is yours: how hard you get sucked in. Set a multiplier to 1 for vanilla.
- Auto-fire — Lights the fuse when anything is in the barrel (optional). This is yours alone in multiplayer.
- Custom fuse — Change how long it takes to fire. -1 keeps vanilla (3 seconds). Minimum override is 1 second. This is yours alone, and the shot uses the fuse of whoever is in the barrel, not whoever placed the cannon.
- Aim after placing — Scroll to change barrel pitch. Turn with Q/E (rebindable), Shift+scroll, and left/right movement while seated. Each of those can be turned off. Scroll step, yaw speed, and aim-while-inside are yours if the host has aiming on.
- Pick it back up — Hold interact on a placed cannon to put it back in your hands.
- Trajectory — Landing arc and glow disc so you can see where a shot goes. Color, range, and lifetime are yours. If the host has trajectories off (or does not have this mod), they stay off. If the host has them on, you can still turn yours off if you dont want it on.
- Launch more than scouts — Pull and launch mobs, birds, and other nearby physics objects.
- Host-synced multiplayer — Launch force, aiming on/off, pickup on/off, and extra launches follow the host. If the host does not have this mod, those stay vanilla / off for everyone. Pull, fuse, auto-fire, aim feel, keybinds, and trajectory look stay client-side as described above.
Controls
| Action | How |
|--------|-----|
| Pitch | Scroll (also while sitting in the barrel) |
| Turn | Default Q / E (toggle or rebind in config) |
| Turn (alt) | Shift + scroll (can be turned off) |
| Turn (seated) | Left/right movement keys while in the barrel (off with EnableMoveYawWhileInside; leftover walk-in strafe is ignored) |
| Pick up | Hold interact, or set PickupKey (G, etc.) to replace interact for cannon pickup only. Same hold time. Fuse still uses vanilla interact. |
Walking around a placed cannon will not yaw it. Movement keys only turn it when you are in the barrel.
Multiplayer
The host owns gameplay: launch multipliers, launch-everything, pickup allowed, and whether aiming/swivel is enabled at all. Everyone in the lobby should use this mod. If the host does not have it, those extras stay off.
Your machine only
- PullForceMultiplier (how hard you get pulled in)
- EnableAutoFire
- FuseTimeOverride (the shot uses the occupant’s fuse while someone is in the barrel)
- AimWhileInside, AngleDegreesPerTick, YawDegreesPerSecond (only used if the host has aiming on)
- All keybinds and bind toggles
- Trajectory color, range, lifetime, and landing disc
- EnableTrajectory can be turned off even if the host has it on. You cannot turn it on if the host has it off or does not have the mod.
Pitch, yaw, and picking a cannon back up are synced so other players see the same cannon — and cannot duplicate a cannon that was already picked up.
Configuration
After launching the game once with the mod installed, a config file will be created at:
BepInEx/config/tony4twentys.PEAK_Scout_Cannons.cfg
Vanilla values are called out so you can put a setting back to stock without guessing.
General
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---------|---------|-------------|
| EnableMultipliers | true | Apply launch/item/backpack/push multipliers. Turn off for vanilla 1x on those. Host-controlled. Pull is client-only. |
| LaunchForceMultiplier | 2 | Player launch. 1 is vanilla. |
| ItemLaunchForceMultiplier | 2 | Item launch. 1 is vanilla. |

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
