The reason I made this map pack is because I see a lot of custom maps and people are saying "this is a good map" but the map is a very generic open map with a couple ruins and a couple bushes underneath and to me, that doesn't excite me, especially those open maps that barely have anything blocking the way for infantry against archers or cavalry.

So a little over a week ago I decided to bite the bullet and finally do some map making on Summit and Blade, with some huge thanks to the help of my friend "Aleczacool" who walked me through the python setup process and module system as well as giving me some tips on how to use the map editor.

My goal is to make a map every day. I would say it was achieved if it wasn't for the fact that the working hours are roughly 9-5pm every day :(

Each map initially took about 7 hours to create. Add another 3 hours (give or take) for some minor exploits to pass the Aleczacool and Lord_Callum tests.

All maps include AI mesh, if you don’t have anyone playing.

So, first let me introduce the map.

map

dry bone

Dry Bones was my first map.

The scenario is basically a team building a hideout in an old dry pond.

The map is designed to favor infantry combat, but ranged infantry does have ample firing points, but at the same time runs the risk of being ambushed. Cavalry isn't the best in this map due to the tight-knit nature of the rocks around the map, but a good rider can do some damage with the Charger's infantry strikes running between the rocks.

I've made the rocks more tightly woven to make combat more interesting, as players will have to watch to see if they can swing with their weapons. So players will have to choose their weapons carefully, as the 2h weapons will most likely not dominate certain parts of the map. on the edge

After finishing the first map I wanted to level up my game a little bit now that I had a good feel for editing. I want to try and push the boundaries a little more and make it more unique than what I've seen from other maps so far.

The scenario is that one faction is traveling along a mountain pass and must venture into the mountains through a forested area, unfortunately there is another faction waiting in an ambush after a spy informs them of the adventuring faction.

The map is an all around map but more centered around infantry again.

Archers can still have fun on this map, but it will be difficult to find and hit targets through dense forested areas and underbrush. They are also vulnerable to ambushes.

Riders have more space to move around on this map than the DRY AS A BONE map, but it can be difficult for the cavalry to find and attack targets due to the many trees used for cover and hills that slow down unit movement.

This map has a fairly long drop off the cliff face, which can be dangerous if fighting in the cliff top area.

Note: I have stopped the horse from running off the edge of a cliff, despite seeing a rider accidentally ride over the edge during combat, as the cavalry can survive any fall. THE BATTLE OF HHARKIN I decided (and was influenced) to make a town map, and decided to crack it.

The result is a battle against Ha Jin. I might have added more detail to the grass textured areas and also added more coverage to the open areas, but I got lazy :(.

The scenario is that a faction invades a city called Hharkin (I know there is no such place in the mountains and blades...but damn should it be :P). The attackers reached some stables and a town garrison was forced to leave their barracks and come out to try to stop the attackers, or at least reduce their numbers.

The map is quite balanced. Infantry has plenty of cover to move between the two, and many different ways to set up ambushes.

Archers will feel more relaxed on this map as there are more open spaces than previous maps, but cavalry also enjoy open ground and can easily pick of …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
