short description

A mod for m&b warband that enhances the original game without completely changing the way it was played before.

Detailed description

There's a long list of changes that could (or might not) be posted here, but I'll make the biggest ones since I can't be reminded of everything I've done.

First, all troops and items have been changed to bring balance to each faction and add more variety to the game. Each unit has its own strengths and weaknesses, and no unit is useful because another unit is too powerful (i.e. the original swadian infantry tree is useless due to over-cavalry and underpowered levels).

Rebalance factions:

Swadia:

The Swadian army was told to have the best cavalry, and they did so, their nobles had early access to armored horses, and their non-noble cavalry were well equipped, well trained, and the best.

As they march over the corpses of their enemies, they can use rapid-firing, fast-moving assaulters to cover their slow heavy infantry.

The Swadian army is an overall strong unit, capable of holding its ground and breaking into enemy lines with ease. They excel in siege defense, as the walls allow their infantry to face the enemy without having to move too much, and their commandos to unleash bolts and arrows on the attackers.

They may have problems with siege attacks because their units are resistant and don't have enough damage to break through the walls.

Vaegirs:Vaegir

Fighters must face tough climate in their homeland, which some say makes them stronger. Whether or not it's true, their archers are trained to hit hard and to hit the ball quickly because wild animals won't give them a chance to shoot again. This made their archers fearful for all of Calradia. The kingdom of Vaegir, located between the territories of the North and Khergit, learned from its two main enemies, so they learned how to use a two-handed ax properly, being able to break the enemy's shield wall, and the best way to mount horses to quickly crush the opposition.

Their infantry are equipped with weapons that don't always allow for the use of shields, making them vulnerable to long-range fire. Archers, being the tough hitters they are, aren't well protected with leather at best, so they need help from other units to keep them alive, otherwise, their incredible ranged strength will amount to nothing.

Noble is the installation unit. They may not be as strong as their Swadian counterparts, but they have the advantage of being better dismounted and equipped with ranged weapons to harass enemy cavalry.

Vaegirs armies are adept at siege, defense or attack, their infantry using their two-handed axes to destroy the shields of their poor victims and then doing the same with their heads.

While on defense, their archers don't have to worry about engaging in melee combat, so they can shoot after the attacker's arrows until none are left.

Khergits:

Members of the Khergit tribe learned how to ride horses from an early age, which turned most of the soldiers into warriors. They are able to act quickly and retreat as quickly as possible if something goes wrong before it goes wrong.

Khergit soldiers will mostly use ranged weapons, whether it's a javelin or a bow with arrows, which allows the cavalry to kill enemies from a distance, or at least damage a few people before a final charge.

The archers present in the Khergit army are deadly with their bows and have the advantage of being on horseback, making them mobile enough to gallop away while chasing the rain.

The few infantry used in the Khergit army were light soldiers who would use shields if they had enough money to pay for it, but most of them would rather spend their bows and arrows.

During the siege, the Khergit cavalry were at a disadvantage b …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
