About this mod Machine translation

This replaced one of the undergarment types, or samurai layered armor, with the swimsuit. You can change colors, mix and match body parts. I removed the flowers and other parts. I'm considering changing the waist to ancient and adding a flower covered head option.

Samurai layered armor is untested (I don't have one), but it should work.

mistake:

  • Shorts cross the pelvic area. This is how Capcom succeeds. I don't know how to fix it until we get full model import/export.
  • Swapping with other models affects customizable colors.
  • The earrings are part of the chest and can be clipped onto the helmet. If I tried to remove them it would probably remove the entire necklace as well.
  • Possible skin flickering. May only appear if multiple people are using the costume replaced by a swimsuit. Will check later.
  • Fixed broken shadows. I don't think it was that long.

*All LODs should be fixed. See below for details on how to fix it.

*Fixed skin tone customization. See the gallery for how to edit mrl3's images and the text below for instructions.

Install:

Just unzip the file (NativePC) to Steam\Steamapps\common\Monster Hunter World\

If you know which armor is which, you can trade this model for other armor.

When Vuze releases his custom layered armor tool, you should be able to set it up as layered armor.

uninstall:

If you want to revert to the original file, just delete the mod file in NativePC\pl\f_equip\pl501_0000\

Alternatively, if you are using the Samurai version, delete the mod file in NativePC\pl\f_equip\pl067_0000\

Optional:

I've made some optional textures for when you overlay something that doesn't let you customize the correct color. Note that these will also override the NPC's customizable colors. I can change the texture reference position later.

Thanks to Vuze for the unpacking tool, and daemon1 for the TEX converter. Also, thanks to MHWTexConvert (it works for CMM BC7).

I haven't released a mod for a long time. If I messed up somewhere, please feel free to tell me.

How do I erase the mesh, set the material, define the LOD, change the mesh address reference:

In mod3, after the material name, it refers to each part of the model. 80 bytes per entry. If you replace these 80 bytes with 00, the model cannot be found, so it will be hidden. You can also hide it by setting the LOD to 00.

The 6th byte I mentioned before is the material ID. I don't know why I wrote this. Anyway, I rewrote the explanation.

Sample entry:

00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

13 00 AE 0B 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 21 00 24 43

00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 1C 40 37 F6 00 00 00 00

4C 3E 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 24 01 00 00 00 AD 0B

FF FF FF FF 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

Notable bytes:

QQ QQ 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 < - sometimes there are bytes here and I don't know what they are for

13 00 PP PP 00 00 MM 00 LL 00 00 00 21 00 24 43

00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 1C 40 37 F6 XX XX XX XX

YY YY YY YY 00 00 00 00 00 24 01 00 00 00 AD 0B < - No idea what these bytes are here

FF FF FF FF 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 < - sometimes there are bytes here and I don't know what they are for

I don't know what QQ QQ and PP PP are, but QQ QQ always seems to match the previous entry PP PP, except in the case of first entry.

I haven't figured out what the other bytes do, but fiddling with them tends to cause crashes.

MM is the material ID. It uses the order of materials listed earlier in the file. Change the value and you will see the texture will change.

LL defines LOD. 00 = Intangible. 01 =Create character, equip box. 02 =In game. Other values seem to include 08 etc. Don't know what they are.

To get infinite LOD I just set this value to FF. I'm not sure if the same values are used to define the shadow (haven't tested yet).

XX XX XX XX is the starting position of the grid to be found. For example, if XX XX XX XX is 43 21 00 00, the address is 00001234.

The initial address always seems to be 00 00 00 00, so I'm assuming the grid data …

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
