About this mod Machine translation

Another NPC exclusive gear, now for players! Removable coat, scarf and cape. Three hat and bust sizes (including original). Change the colors in the game. Mix and match parts. Optional original scale. The customized version is the default version: shorter shorts and longer legs.

Replaces Winter Orion armor (regular and layered). You don't need to use the Handler costume to use this.

Japanese explanation: はこの下です.

Update log:

  • Dramatically reduce the neck cut through the back of the turtleneck. Still occurs when the neck turns a lot (rarely).
  • Fixed the gap between the wrists and upper and lower body on the original scale model.
  • Fixed Naked Scrooge not actually shaking hands.

notes:

  • Waist styles include scarves, capes and dresses/coats.
  • Exchanging with other model files affects customizable colors. I prepared alternative textures to deal with this problem. See instructions below.
  • The cape has minor clipping issues.
  • The clothing pattern is red, but will change if you replace other armor or switch CMM files.
  • If you don't like haircuts, try using the alternate EVLH clip files or the EVLH files included in Little Hat.

How do I convert it:

  • To keep the helm from breaking, I used the NPCBS version and pasted in the first bone index data entry of the player helmet model.
  • To make the chandelier work, I made the book strap bones into sling bones and moved the bones in Blender.
  • To stop the rig from crashing, I edited the skeleton graph to reference the newly created throwing skeleton.
  • To make the shading work, I edited the materials and CMM textures.
  • To separate parts, I either shrink them out of view or manually replace the vertex data with 00 bytes.
  • To eliminate the gap between the turtleneck and the shorts, I manually edited the mesh.

Install:

Just unzip the main archive (with folders) to Steam\Steamapps\common\Monster Hunter World\

Optional files are located in the same location, overwriting the main archive's files.

To customize textures with alternate colors, go to NativePC\pl\f_equip\mod_pl_winter\

There are CMM files, CMM_a and CMM_b files. Replace CMM with version a or b (I think the default is a).

uninstall:

If you want to restore the original files, just delete the mod files in these folders:

NativePC \ PL \ f_equip \ pl077_0000 \

NativePC \ PL \ f_equip \ mod_pl_winter \

Thanks to Vuze's unpacking tool, daemon1's raw texture converter (correct offset values are usually around 100 to 118), FineNerd's MHWTexConvert for converting DDS to BC7, Predator for the MT Framework tool import for reference, CrazyT's BlenderMhwModelImporter and JodoZT's Better MHW texture converter.

Special thanks to people reporting issues and helping others in the forum.

Replaces the Winter Orion armor (both regular and layered). You do not need to have the Handler costume to use this.

Japanese explanation: はこの下です.

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
