LC ControlTipKeys
Makes in-game control tips (e.g. 'Drop item: [G]') show your actual key binds. Works with vanilla binds and InputUtils rebinds; InputUtils is a soft dependency.
About this mod Machine translation
LC-ControlTipKeys
Lethal Company's BepInEx plug-in: Make in-game operation prompts (such as Drop item: [G]) the keys in square brackets
Follow the actual key position dynamic display in the settings menu.
A BepInEx plugin that makes Lethal Company's control tips (e.g. Drop item: [G]) show
your actual key binds instead of hardcoded keys. Works with the vanilla rebind menu
and with LethalCompany_InputUtils rebinding (soft dependency — the plugin works fine
without InputUtils installed).
What it covers
| Tip | Mapped action |
|---|---|
| Drop: [G] | Discard |
| Item tip lines [Q] (shotgun safety,...) | QEItemInteract |
| Item tip lines [RMB] (stun grenade "Pull pin",...) | ActivateItem |
| Quit terminal: [TAB] / [Start] | UseUtilitySlot / OpenMenu |
| Grab: [E], Use door: [LMB],... (crosshair prompts) | Interact |
| Hold-to-vote leave-early / spectator tips [RMB], [R-trigger] | PingScan |
| Ship build-mode tip — keyboard side Confirm/Store | ConfirmBuildMode / Delete |
Display names use vanilla-style shorthand (LMB, RMB, TAB, D-pad up, R-Trigger,...).
Keyboard vs. gamepad bindings are picked with StartOfRound.localPlayerUsingController.
Vehicle tips (Gas pedal: [W]...) are intentionally left vanilla in v1. The utility-slot
[TAB] label is already dynamic in vanilla.
Compatibility
- Vanilla: reads live bindings from the global InputActionAsset (InputSystem.actions),
the same asset the vanilla rebind menu writes overrides to.
- InputUtils 0.7.x: InputUtils loads its overrides into the same asset instance, so
rebinds are picked up automatically. The plugin has no hard reference to InputUtils.
- Any lookup failure (missing action / empty binding / parse error) falls back to the
original string; every Harmony patch is wrapped in its own try/catch.
Config
BepInEx/config/syrupdesu.LC_ControlTipKeys.cfg (generated on first run):
- Enabled — master switch
- ControlTipLines — left-bottom control tip lines
- HoverPrompts — crosshair prompts
- VotingTips — hold-to-vote / spectator tips
- BuildModeTip — ship build-mode tip (keyboard side only)
- RefreshAfterRebind — refresh visible item tips right after saving a rebind
- DebugLogging — log every replacement (Debug level)

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
