CustomSoundImplementation
Allows easy customisation of sound effects in Lethal Company
About this mod Author’s original text
Information
Allows you to replace any of the sound effects in game by dragging and dropping.wav files in the appropriate files.
All files are located in the 'CustomSoundImplementation' folder. Find the entity you'd like to change the sound effects of (like MouthDog), enter the folder, and drag any.wav files into the sounds you'd like to replace (for instance - Lunge1). You can carry as many sound effects into the folder as you'd like, as the game will randomly pick one of the sounds to play in-game.
Keep in mind all filenames are in the monsterAudio.txt file. If you wish to add more Monsters/sound effects that are not present, just edit this file. Booting up the game will auto-create all the required folders. The filenames and the names in this file MUST be the same
Setting up
If manual - drag and drop the BepinEx folder in the Lethal Company folder
IMPORTANT - Make sure you have at least the following BepInEx.cfg settings:
[Chainloader] HideManagerGameObject = true
[Logging.Console] Enabled = true
[Logging.Console] LogLevels = Fatal, Error, Info, Debug, Warning
Possibly [Logging.Disk] WriteUnityLog = false
If you do not use these settings, this mod will NOT work
Configuration
All players who want to hear the sound effects need the mod installed with the SAME sound effects in the folders - this is a client-side mod.
KNOWN ISSUES
Replacing some sound effects with long audio recordings may cause the in-game audio to stutter
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
