ChristmasTree
Newly added suspended Christmas tree enemies: two-tentacle attack and four-tentacle restraint. After each round of attack fails, the tentacles will be lengthened by 1 meter, the extension speed will be increased by 10%, and will be reset after catching the player. About this mod Machine translation
ChristmasTree · Christmas tree
Stay away from the laughing Christmas tree. Its "gift" is to keep you here.
ChristmasTree adds an indoor enemy to Lethal Company: a levitating Christmas tree covered in lights and stars. It will chase the player, launch a surprise attack with two tentacles, and trap the prey with four tentacles.
Avoiding once doesn't mean it's safe. Continuous misses will make its tentacles longer and faster; cooperating with teammates, using bunkers and timely rescue are the keys to leaving alive.
Version: 0.1.0 Beta|Target game version: V81|Online: The host and all players need to install the same version.
The full return of the original game and dual-end online play in the current installation package has not yet been completed. Test feedback is welcome.
Where will you encounter it?
- The Christmas tree participates in the natural generation of indoor areas of the planet and does not necessarily appear in every game.
- It will patrol the facility, pursue players after discovering them, and also investigate nearby movements.
- It can open unlocked ordinary doors. Closing the door cannot be used as a permanent escape method.
- It moves in a hovering manner, but does not pass through walls, and is not guaranteed to cross all map gaps.
After encountering it, observe the retreat route first and try to leave room for lateral dodge. Don't wait until you're stuck at the end of a narrow corridor to start running.
Double Tentacle Assault
When the target enters an attack distance of about 10 meters, the Christmas tree will stop, and after a short preparation of about 0.35 seconds, it will shoot two tentacles at the aimed position at the same time.
- The maximum base extension distance is 11 meters and the base extension speed is 8 meters/second.
- The tentacle extends in the direction it is aimed at this round; by moving laterally in time, it can leave its attack path.
- The tentacle will be recovered after it reaches the maximum distance or hits a solid obstacle such as a wall.
- Any tentacle hitting the player can cause restraint; it does not have to hit at the same time.
- After both tentacles are recovered and no player is caught, a cooldown of about 2 seconds will take place before looking for the next opportunity to attack.
Practical advice: When seeing an attack, give priority to sideways dodging or turning behind a bunker. If you retreat in a straight line in the direction of the tentacles, you may still be overtaken by the extended tentacles.
The more you hide, the more dangerous the next round will be.
Whenever a full round of double tentacle attacks ends without capturing any players, the next round will result in:
- Maximum reach increased by 1 meter.
- The extension speed is increased by 10% based on the previous round and multiplied continuously.
| Number of consecutive missed rounds | Longest extension distance | Extension speed |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 0 | 11 meters | 8 meters/second |
| 1 | 12 meters | 8.8 meters/second |
| 2 | 13 meters | 9.68 meters/second |
| 3 | 14 meters | approximately 10.65 m/s |
A double-tentacle attack only counts for one round, and there will not be two extra rounds just because there are two tentacles. If the tentacle is blocked by a cover and the player is not caught in the entire round, it will also be counted as a failure.
These accumulated buffs are immediately reset upon catching any player. The attack launch distance does not increase as the tentacle lengthens; what increases is the distance it can reach after being shot.
What to do if you get caught?
The caught player will be surrounded by four binding tentacles, unable to move normally, and will take 5 points of damage per second. Don't wait for it to let go of its own accord, tell your teammates your location immediately.

Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
