About this mod Author’s original text
BM Custom Sounds
Replace Lethal Company sounds with your own custom audio files.
BM Custom Sounds supports OGG, WAV and MP3, and allows you to add multiple randomized variants for the same sound.
No configuration required — just add your sounds and play.
Features
- Replace Lethal Company sounds using their original AudioClip names.
- Supports.ogg,.wav and.mp3.
- Multiple randomized variants for the same sound.
- Shuffle system helps prevent repetitive sounds.
- Supports subfolders for organizing sound packs.
- Automatically falls back to vanilla sounds when no replacement exists.
How to use
Place your custom sounds inside:
BepInEx/plugins/Brox-BM_CustomSounds/sounds/
To replace a sound, give your custom file the same name as the original Lethal Company AudioClip.
For example:
sounds/
└── ExampleSound.ogg
Random Sound Variants
Want several different sounds for the same event?
Simply add a number to the end:
sounds/
├── ExampleSound_01.ogg
├── ExampleSound_02.ogg
└── ExampleSound_03.ogg
BM Custom Sounds will automatically recognize these as variants of ExampleSound and shuffle between them during gameplay.
There is no fixed limit:
ExampleSound_01.ogg
ExampleSound_02.ogg
ExampleSound_03.ogg...
ExampleSound_10.ogg
You can also mix formats:
ExampleSound_01.ogg
ExampleSound_02.wav
ExampleSound_03.mp3
Organizing your sounds
Subfolders are supported, so larger sound packs can stay organized:
sounds/
├── Enemies/
│ ├── ExampleSound_01.ogg
│ └── ExampleSound_02.ogg
│
├── Items/
└── Misc/
Only the filename determines which AudioClip is replaced.
Vanilla Sounds
If BM Custom Sounds cannot find a replacement, the original Lethal Company sound is used.
An empty sounds folder simply means the game uses vanilla audio.
Multiplayer
Custom sounds are currently loaded locally for each player.
Multiplayer synchronization and host sound-pack support are being explored for future versions.
Installation
Install through Mod Manager / r2modman, or place BM_CustomSounds.dll and the sounds folder inside your BepInEx plugins folder.
Have fun creating your own sound packs!
Install & use Install: BepInEx plugin
- The archive from playbuff is the mod itself — usually a BepInEx plugin (a .dll or a plugin folder once unzipped).
- Recommended: use a community mod manager (such as r2modman) — pick this game, import the mod, and the manager sets up BepInEx and its dependencies for you.
- Manual route: install the BepInEx loader in the game folder, then drop the unzipped .dll or plugin folder into BepInEx/plugins/.
- Launch the game — the BepInEx console logs every plugin it loads; seeing this mod in the log means it is installed.
Mods with listed dependencies need those installed too, or they will not load. Options are usually changed in-game or in the plugin's config file.
Install these first, or the mod will not work:
