Mod Chunk ID Conflict Resolution Tool

🎮 **Say goodbye to mod conflict crashes! ** This powerful Python script can automatically detect and repair modules that cannot coexist because they use the same block ID, allowing you to freely combine your favorite modules without worrying about game crashes.

🔧 How it works

In Unreal Engine, if multiple mods are packaged with the same block ID, the game will often crash, which greatly limits compatibility between mods.

This script utilizes **menv's uecastoc tool** to intelligently scan your mod folders for these hidden conflicts and generate new, compatible versions of conflicting modules.

📦 Prerequisites and installation

Before you begin, make sure you have the following tools ready:

  • **Python**: Download and install from the official website.
  • **UECASTOC tool**: Obtained from GitHub repository.
  • **This script**: After downloading, please put it into the `cpp` folder in the UECASTOC installation directory.

🚀 Steps to use

Follow these steps to easily resolve conflicts:

  • **Edit script**: Open the `mod_chunk_conflict_resolution.py` file, find the `mods_folder_path` variable, and change it to the actual path of your game's `~mods` directory.
  • **Run the script**: Open a command prompt, navigate to UECASTOC’s `cpp` directory, and run the command:

```bash
python mod_chunk_conflict_resolution.py
```

  • **Get New Mod**: If the script detects a conflict, it will generate a new, repaired version of the module file in the `cpp/modded` directory.
  • **Replace Mods**:** (It is recommended to back up the original files first!)** Copy these newly generated files to your game's `~mods` directory, overwriting the original conflicting modules.

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTES

To ensure the script runs properly, please note the following:

  • **File name uniqueness**: The file name within each module must be unique. Within the same module, there should be no files with the same name in different folders.
  • **Module naming convention**: The name of the module folder **do not** contain spaces or special characters (such as `/`, `\`, `.`, etc.).

✨ Now you can enjoy a conflict-free modding experience! If you think this tool is of great help, don’t forget to give the original author a thumbs up!

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
  3. Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.

Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
