Eat Drink Rest 🍽️💧🛏️
✨ Module function
This mod makes food, drinks, and your common room beds actually useful!
- **Disable automatic health recovery** (This is the basic setting of the module)
- Every day that passes in the game, the following effects will be triggered during the next **load** (fast travel, loading save, entering and exiting the dungeon...) or **wait**:
- **Hunger**: Your health will be reduced by a percentage (the effect accumulates day by day), reaching a critical level where you will no longer be able to run.
- **Thirst**: Your Ancient Magic damage is reduced (the effect accumulates over time), reaching a critical level where you will no longer be able to cast Ancient Magic finishing moves.
- **Fatigue**: Casting "Armor Guard" will drain your health only when you reach a critical level.
- **Custom UI**: Show status of past days.
- 🟢 **Green**: No negative effects.
- 🟠 **Orange**: Has negative effects (but not critical).
- 🔴 **Red**: has critical negative effects.
- **Recovery Method**: Reset the days and remove negative effects by **eating** (recovering health and movement ability), **drinking** (recovering ancient magic damage and ability to use), or **rest** (no longer being injured by casting "Armor Protection").

🤝 Recommended modules
I highly recommend using it with my following mods:
- **Harder Modes**: Use their optional files to **reduce the number of potions** you can carry and **increase the cost** of crafting them.
- *Even on Hard mode we had access to so many health potions it was ridiculous and we never had to worry about running out. It can be said that this "eating and drinking" module can fully reflect its meaning when paired with it. *
- **Show Date/Time**: This way you can see how much time/days have passed in the game.

📥 Installation Guide
Please follow these steps **carefully**:
- **Download** the latest UE4SS (Xinput).
- Extract its contents to a directory next to the game executable: `~\Hogwarts Legacy\Phoenix\Binaries\Win64\`
- *It should look like this (Editor's note: minus the imgui.ini and ue4ss.logs generated afterwards. You don't need all the original files in the UE4SS archive). *
- **New changes in UE4SS 2.5**: Also requires the **Mods folder**, **now requires the default BPModLoaderMod of UE4SS**.
- Open the `Mods\mods.txt` file and ensure `BPModLoaderMod = 1`.
- Unzip the ZIP file** of this module (**you need two main files**) to the game root directory `~\Hogwarts Legacy`.

⚠️ Known limitations
- I hope that the reduction in maximum health is "permanent" and cannot be restored even with potions, but I am not sure if this is possible.
- Losing health while casting "Armor Guard" will cause **very slight lag**. We currently have no solution because if the operation is performed asynchronously to avoid lag, the health bar HUD will not be updated.

⚙️ Custom adjustments
You can adjust some values to your liking at the beginning of the `main.lua` file:
```lua
-- ----------------
-- Trackers
-- ----------------
local hungerPerDay = 15 -- update this value if you want to reach the critical level faster or slower
local thirstPerDay = 30 -- update this value if you want to reach critical levels faster or slower
local tirednessPerDay = 30 -- update this value if you want to reach the critical level faster or slower
local hungerPenaltyPercent = 15 -- The percentage of health lost by not eating every day
local thirstPenaltyPercent = 20 -- The percentage of ancient magic damage reduced by not drinking water per day
local hungerCriticalThreshold = 41 -- the threshold below which you cannot run
local thirstCriticalThreshold = 60 -- the threshold below which you cannot use ancient magic
local tirednessCriticalThreshold = 30 -- below this threshold, using "Armor Protection" will result in loss of life
```

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
