About this mod Machine translation
Localized String Decoder avafdict-codec
🎮 **Use this tool to modify MAIN and SUB.bin files containing dialog and menu localization strings. **
---
📁 File location and function
These files are located in the game's PAK file under the path `Phoenix\Content\Localization\WIN64`. They are required to modify any text in the game, whether it's a menu or written dialogue.
- **SUB file**: mainly contains subtitles.
- **MAIN file**: Contains everything else.
---
🛠️ How to use
**Method 1 (drag and drop)**:
Directly drag and drop the files that need to be encoded or decoded onto the corresponding .EXE file.
**Method 2 (command line)**:
Call the tool from the command line, passing the file as the first argument.
---
✏️ How to modify files
These files consist of a series of **Keys** and **Values**:
- **Key**: Helps the game find the corresponding value.
- **value**: Contains localized strings.
**⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTE**:
- **Do not modify keys**: Modifying key values arbitrarily may cause the game to not run properly.
- **Processing newline characters**: Some strings contain newline characters, which are displayed as `\n` in the decoded file. You are free to add or remove these `\n`s, but **do not insert real newlines directly into the file**, otherwise they will be interpreted as different values and may completely corrupt the file.
---

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions
- Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
- There is no universal mod manager for this game: some mods replace game files directly, some go into a game-specific Mods folder, and some need a game-specific community loader or tool first — follow the bundled readme.
- Place the files exactly as the readme says; mods with listed dependencies need those installed too.
- Launch the game to confirm it loaded; some games require enabling mods in settings or an in-game mod menu.
Install locations vary a lot between games and mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
