About this mod Author’s original text

ZoneScan

Info

(For rundown devs) This plugin allows you to make any chained puzzle not use the default radius scan, instead it can scan the whole room or zone the scan is in without leaking out of the room/zone. the size or shape of a room/zone doesn't matter.

How To Use

  • Launch your game once with it installed, find ZoneScanConfig in the custom folder in your rundown folder, open and find ZoneScanSettings
  • This will be in there:\

{\

 "AllowedPersistentIDs":\

  [\

    {\

      "ID": 8000,\

      "UseZoneInsteadOfNode": false\

    },\

    {\

      "ID": 8001,\

      "UseZoneInsteadOfNode": true\

    }\

  ]\

}

  • ID is the chained puzzle persistent id you want to override
  • UseZoneInsteadOfNode will determine if it scans the room the scan is in or the entire zone the scan is in
  • false = scan just room
  • true = scan full zone
  • If a zone is one room they will behave the same
  • will work with items and items are considered being in the scan the same as players
  • if it is an exit scan it will ignore ExitScanMulti
  • if a scan has "OnlyShowHUDWhenPlayerIsClose" on in the chainedpuzzle data block (usually exit scans) and uses this plugin, the scan may be able to progress without players seeing the HUD
  • this plugin will not affect the scan graphic, just how the game detects players

Patch Notes

  • 1.0.0 Initial release
  • 1.0.1 Updated this page so its more readable and has more info
  • 1.0.2 Allowed comments, recommend to copy your existing file and then delete the ZneScanConfig folder to let it regenerate the jsonc file
  • 1.1.0 Added support for repositioning scans with ECPC, logs are now actually accurate
  • 1.1.1 Fixed a small issue

Install & use Install: follow the bundled instructions

  1. Unzip the archive from playbuff and read the bundled readme / instructions first.
  2. Most mods rely on the game's mod loader — the usual route is a community mod manager (such as r2modman): pick this game, install, and it handles the loader and dependencies.
  3. For a manual install, put the mod files into the matching Mod / plugins folder inside the game directory.
  4. Launch the game to confirm it loaded; mods with listed dependencies need those installed as well.

Install locations vary a lot between mods — the bundled readme is the most reliable guide.
